February 16-18, 2007: Vero's Thunder on the Beach Powwow

Location: Indian River County Fairgrounds, 7955 58th Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960
Event Detail: When you get off I-95 go to the east to 58th Ave, then turn left, go 6 miles and the fairgrounds are on the left side. We are happy to announce that the Wrede's Wildlife will be with us bringing all their beautiful animals. We have 30 artists and vendors. Great food and lots of entertainment! Come and spend the day with us. Head man is Ed Winddancer, Head Lady is Kaye Taylor, Arena director is Billy Kipp, and our MC is David Whitewolf Trezak. Drums are Medicine Tail and Red bird Jr. All our proceeds go to the Dancing Like Thunder Youth Group.

February 23-24, 2007: 62nd Anniversary Iwo Jima Landing/Flag Raising Commemoration

Location: Veterans' Park/D3BBPark, Casa Blanca/Sacaton Roads, Sacaton, AZ 85247
Event Detail: On Friday, a golf tournament is scheduled in the morning at 08:30 at Sunbird Golf Resort and dinner is scheduled in the evening at 18:00 at the Sacaton Boys/Girls Club. On Saturday, the parade begins at 09:00 w/military flyover and is followed by ceremonial events at the Veterans/Memorial Park which includes massing of colors, flag raising, POW/MIA service, memorial dedication and wreath laying. Lunch will be provided by the Women's Auxiliary Unit. Gourd dancing will commence at 14:00 and a social powwow/grand entry will be at 18:30 at the GRIC District 3 ball field.
