Event Detail: In 1999 the Comanche family of Chappabitty and Quassycheeky, along with the Fredericksburg Intertribal Powwow organization co-sponsored and founded the first annual powwow to honor an unbroken treaty between the Comanche Nation and the German settlers of Fredericksburg. It was because of the warm relationship between the Comache and the Germans that family ancestors as well as the treaty survived. Our powwow is organized and run in the traditional family style and held outside at historic Ft. Martin Scott.

Event Detail: (Memorial Day Weekend)Come experience this premier event – rich in history and glamour. Local, award winning glass artists as well as glass masters from all over the world will be showcased displaying functional and sculptural glass pieces including hand-made glass beads, blown glass bowls and urns, gemstones, modern and antique jewelry and glass sculptures. Returning this year will be Murano-born Venetian glass Master, Luigi Cattelan. Luigi comes from a family of glass masters dating as far back as the 15th century. Luigi makes blown glass beads, lamp worked candy beads, blows small perfume bottles and is the only remaining Muranese who continues to produce Chevron beads. Local glass artist from Santa Rosa Beach, Tim O’Connell will also be displaying his glass art. Tim has an extensive background in glass blowing and was taught by Czechoslovakian and Swedish masters. He makes stemware, barware, tableware, and decorative items. George O’Grady, who hails from New Mexico is known for his gold fuming and blown glass sculptures. His inspiration comes from contemporary art, abstract art, pop art, and surrealism. His unique combination of influences produce stunning pieces of glass art. Robert Heal, a native of Milton, FL is bringing his massive collection of old south history, including Spanish Conquistador relics, Native American artifacts, ancient beads and jewelry and “modern” Civil War antiques. Event Detail: This years Native American Program Spring Festival will feature a one day Pow Wow at the Mazama Gymnasium on the Central Oregon Community College campus here in Bend Oregon. This FREE event will be held on Saturday May 27, 2006 from 9am to 10 pm. There will be some limited FREE vendor space for those who would like to bring their Native American food, crafts, products, and or artwork to the event. Space is limited so please contact us right away to reserve your place. There will also be a Native American Art Show as well, if you have art to show, please keep in touch as details are coming soon. This is to be a non-competitive benefit Pow Wow so although there are no prizes being offered, many visitors will get the chance to dance in the circle. Those Dancers and Drummers who are approved in advance will be paid and fed, but again space is limited so please if you are a dancer or you have a dance group that would like to attend, contact us right away. If you need a place to camp or stay, we may even be able to help with arrangements. We are seeking an experienced MC to host our event and you can always look on this web page for more information as it becomes available.
