Event Detail: This is a celebration, social gathering and friendly dance competition. This cultural event is both educational and fun. Food vendors and arts and craft vendors.

Oct 3-5: Best of the West Contest and Veterans' Benefit Powwow
Location: Walt Haring Snow Park, 1/4 mi off Hwy 97, Chemult, OR 97463
Event Detail: Contests to support our veterans' benefit project. Contestants will be judged by the audience making dollar donations under the contestant's number. The contestant with the most donations will be presented a one-of-a-kind, copyrighted, Best of the West 2003 glass trophy. Donations will benefit the veterans' project. Vendors, dancers, and spectators re welcome! On Saturday Oct 4, 2003 there will be a Comanche Sunset Wedding Ceremony performed. Gifts are nice but not mandatory.

Oct 4-5: Atwood lake Powwow
Location: On route # 212- 10 miles east of the I-77 interchange at Bolivar, OH
Event Detail: Ohio's Largest & Best Intertribal Powwow! All dancers & drums will have free camping and meals. Blanket dance for all drums, all drums welcomed. Dance area under cover. Atylatyl demonstrators, flint knappers, firemakers, fingerweaving, hawk throwing and more. Set up your Tipi and recieve $20. A professional photographer will be on hand to take pictures of dancers etc for a small fee. Professional recording artist John DeBoer will be playing Native American selections on handmade flutes.

Location: Buttonwood Park, Hull Prairie Road, Perrysburg, OH 43551
Event Detail: This is a Traditional Outdoor Woodland Indian Celebration right on the Maumee River. Host Drum- SouthEastern WaterSpider, Special Guest: Douglas Blue Feather, 2002 Native Amerian Music Award Winnder for Best Independent Recording of the Year. There will be on-going programs including Canoes on the Maumee River. Gates Open at 10a each day. Grand Entry at 1p each day. Admission: Children under 6 - Free; Ages 6-12, and over 62 - $2; Ages 13-62 - $4. Buttwood Park is a beautiful location right on the Maumee River Plain. Come out and enjoy the River, the woods, the rolling River Bank, and The Celebration!

Carlos Reynosa, Yaki and Cherokee, Guillermo Martinez, Tarascan and Apache, and Eric Alvarado, Apache will present music as soloists, as duos, and as a trio. Event included with museum admission.
