Event Detail: We would like to invite all Mountain Men to come out in time-period, regalia, costume for this 1st Annual event to be held at Diamond Lake Resort. Sep 5-7: 41st Annual National Championship Indian Pow Wow
Location: Traders Village, Grand Prairie, TX
Event Detail: Sponsored by the Dallas/Fort Worth Inter-Tribal Association, the two-and a-half day event is free to the public to attend. Several hundred Native Americans, representing dozens of tribes from across the United States, will take part in this colorful celebration of culture and heritage. Traders Village is located at 2602 Mayfield Road in Grand Prairie, five miles south of Six Flags Over Texas, just off State Highway 360 near I-20. Admission is free and parking is only $2 per car. Event Detail: This is a benefit festival to raise funds for the care, rehabilitation and release of injured and orphaned wildlife at Skye's Spirit Wildlife Rehab. There will be drumming by Asequui, other drums welcome, please call or e-mail, vendors, bison burgers, craft demonstrations and sales, and a display of live Birds of Prey. Please join us for a great weekend of fun to help the wildlife. "Wildlife doesnt carry major medical", we need to pull together to help them. Sep 26-27: Standing Bear Pow-Wow
Location: Standing Bear Park, Ponca City, OK
Event Detail: Located at the intersection of US Hwy 60, US Hwy 77 & US Hwy 177. The Standing Bear Pow Wow is an annual event held the last weekend in September. The first Pow Wow was held in 1994. It was a joyous celebration of the blessing of the grounds that are now home to the Standing Bear Park and Statue. Activities surrounding the Pow Wow include Native American historians , storytellers and artists attending schools and giving presentations throughout the area and special informative sessions on the dances, etc. This series of activities is entitled, "In Celebration of Native America" and runs throughout September in and around Ponca City.
