Location: Maxwell Wildlife Refuge, 2565 Pueblo Rd. (6 miles N. of Canton), Canton, KS 67428
Event Detail: Primitive camps, demonstrations and traders welcome. Other activities include Buffalo tours, arts and crafts and musical entertainment. May arrive on Thursday with option to stay until Sunday. No camp fees. Open to the public 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fri. & Sat. Friday is a big school field trip day. Directions: From Ft Worth take hwy 287 N to Rhome, exit hwy 114 west, cross over hwy 287 and take the south bound service road. Go approx 1/4 mile turn right on CR 4651. Fololow it approx 1 mile and turn right on Brammer Rd. and then turn right into the first gate. Follow road to camp area.

Event Detail: On the bank of the river where the Mississippi and Illinois rivers meet. Pre-1840 dress and camp required in primitive camp. Early setup afternoon October 11th. Planned activities include: A 32 mile canoe trip - October 11th-12th; Bring your own canoe and personal floatation devices. Be prepared for overnight camp on river bank (including food, bedding, etc…). We also may meet hostels. Black Powder Shoot with Hawk & Knife Throw; Blanket shoot Prize Entry ($15.00 value will be judged). Traditional Craftsman and food of the times. Primitive bow shooting; Flag raising - October 15nd at 9:00am. At Marquette Joliet landing: Re-enactment at 11am; Primitive camping (pre 1840)

Event Detail: The Halpatter Tustenuggee Association presents our annual event celebrating the early 1800's when Lake City was called Alligator after Chief Alligator, who had his Seminole town here. Presented are period and modern music and dance, cultural demonstrations, Creek, Seminole, and Western Plains camps, a live alligator show, blacksmiths,fur traders, braintanning demonstrations, impromptu dances, both period and modern arts, crafts, food, music, and other entertainment. We have camping for participants,hot showers, flush toilets, a gymnasium for inclement weather (known as "hurricanes" down here) tall shady pines, ample parking, and an adjacent auditorium next to our site in the college "Commons". Other activites are being added, including evening events for participants.Vendor fee is $45 plus tax for two days. Bonefied demonstrators may sell items with no fee. Please contact us by October 1st to take part as space is limited.
