2018 Bridgeton Mountain Man Rendezvous
Relive tradition at the 26th Annual Bridgeton Mountain Man Rendezvous on April 28-29, 2018 in Bridgeton, Indiana. Everyone is invited to the Bridgeton Mountain Man Rendezvous to enjoy a taste of authentic pre-1840s fur-trade-era living in a beautiful historic setting. Walk through the Mountain Man encampment complete with trading posts and pioneer goods for sale. Held the last full weekend of April each year since 1993 on land important to the communities past and in preserved historic buildings.
Bridgeton Mountain Man Rendezvous
The Bridgeton Mountain Man Rendezvous is fun for the whole family! Early 1800s living is reenacted with historic primitive skill demonstrations. Watch live black powder muzzle loader shooting and knife and tomahawk throwing. See a primitive bow shoot and a canoe race on Big Raccoon Creek on Saturday. Enjoy pioneer crafters at work and let the kids participate in authentic old-time activities.
While you’re here for the Bridgeton Mountain Man Rendezvous, visit the 1822 Case Log Cabin for a lesson in authentic pioneer hearth cooking including the popular “chicken-on-a-string.” Stop at the Bridgeton Grist Mill for a live 1800s corn grinding demonstration, and try some Parke County products. Visit Collom’s General Store and the 1878 Barn for vendors and shop at the 1878 House, Ye Olde Covered Bridge Shoppe, and other stores in town. Plenty of food choices will be available. And don’t forget to take a stroll through the famous Bridgeton Covered Bridge.
The Bridgeton Volunteer Fire Department will stage a Jonah Fish Fry from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Enjoy fish and fixins at the Firehouse. Shops will be open, plenty of food vendors. The Bridgeton Mountain Man Rendezvous is educational and fun for everyone.

Bridgeton is home to the oldest continuously operating mill west of the Allegheny Mountains. The mill overlooks Indiana’s most famous covered bridge and waterfall. The first two blocks of the town of Bridgeton were placed on the National Register Historic District in 1992.

The Bridgeton Covered Bridge Association promotes tourism in the historic village of Bridgeton, by sponsoring events such as the Bridgeton Mountain Man Rendezvous. They also work to maintain and preserve the Bridgeton Covered Bridge.
