Step back in history at the 27th Annual JEB Stuart Civil War Encampment on October 6-7, 2018 at Laurel Hill, birthplace of JEB Stuart in Ararat, Virginia. Each year on the first weekend in October, a Civil War Encampment and Living History event is held that includes battle scenes, period fashion show, Civil War sutlers, period music entertainment, food vendors, blacksmithing, local crafters, historical society information, authentic Civil War church services on Sunday and much more. Bring the entire family and meet the Civil War Generals.

Laurel Hill is located seven miles north of the city of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, less than a mile beyond the Virginia-North Carolina border in Ararat, Virginia. Laurel Hill is owned and Maintained by the J.E.B. Stuart Birthplace Preservations Trust Inc. and welcomes visitors during daylight hours, each day of the week and is home of the Annual JEB Stuart Civil War Encampment & Living History Weekend. Information for a self-guided walking tour is provided near the entrance to the property.
