2018 Pocumtuck Homelands Festival
Join us for the 5th Annual Pocumtuck Homelands Festival on August 4, 2018 at Unity Park in Turners Falls, Massachusetts along Barton’s Cove, Connecticut River. Come enjoy this festival at beautiful Unity Park with nesting Eagles or waterfowl flying in the background of the Music Tent, over the River. Performances include live traditional, original, and fusion music, a story teller, and three drum groups. There will be Native American vendors, and games, activities and crafts for children. Also featured will be primitive skills demonstrations, a books and authors section, and condensed history lessons about Great Falls.

The Mashantucket-Pequot archaeology team will be on site at the event to analyze early contact period artifacts people bring to them, and an expert on ancient ceremonial stone monuments in the northeast, remnants of New England’s pre-colonial native civilization. Food will be available, including Native American fare.
