2019 Sounds of Thunder Mountain Pow Wow and Celebration
You’re invited to the Sounds of Thunder Mountain Pow Wow and Celebration on August 17-18, 2019 on the Kaibab Paiute Reservation, near Fredonia, Arizona. The Kaibab Paiute Tribe invites you to enjoy the annual Thunder Mountain Pow Wow & Celebration beginning Saturday at 6:30 AM with a Fun-Run/Walk (registration at 6am) followed by a Free Fishing Derby, Southern Paiute Hand-Drum Contest, Water Activites, Horshoe tournament, Art Show, and a 3-on-3 Basektball touranament!
Sounds of Thunder Mountain Pow Wow and Celebration
The Sounds of Thunder Mountain Pow Wow contest will be on Saturday at 1 PM and 7 PM and on Sunday at 11AM. Don’t miss the FREE FEAST on Saturday! Bring your own chairs, canopies, sunblock and water. There will be vendors selling additional drinks and food. Bring CASH to buy food, art and more.
There will also be free camping at the baseball field near the powwow grounds. The new Kaibab Paiute Tribe campground will be open for use during the powwow. Those desiring to camp there should call Lorraine Benn at 928-643-8321. Bulletts said there will also be free camping at the baseball field near the powwow grounds on Saturday night.
Location
Sounds of Thunder Mountain Pow Wow events take place in and around the Kaibab Paiute Tribe Park and Community building, near Moccasin. The Kaibab Paiute Reservation is located about 14 miles west of Fredonia, AZ 86022.

Enter into Google Maps, “State Route 389A & Pipe Springs Road, Fredonia, AZ 86022”.
This gets you to the point where you will turn toward Pipe Spring National Monument.
Travel to the very end of Pipe Springs Road (about 2.5 miles past the Monument) to the pow wow.
