What is a Pow Wow?
Pow Wow is a time to celebrate life, strengthen the ties among the People and invite visitors to share in American Indian culture by joining together to dance, sing and listen to stories, old songs and see dances that bridge the gap from ancestors to elders, to young ones.[su_accordion][su_spoiler title=”Read More”] Grand Entry begins the Pow Wow. The American Flag enters first carried by a Native American Veteran followed by an Eagle Staff when available. Veterans of all Wars are invited to participate in Grand Entry and they follow the flag. Next, the dancers who enter according to the dance category.

Respecting The Drum – The Drum encompasses not only the Drum itself but also the singers in the group. The Drum plays a significant part of Pow Wow. The Drum symbolizes the heartbeat, in others, the powerful medicine of thunder. The Drum must always be treated with respect. It is a sacred thing. The beat of the Drum is like a heartbeat, starting slowly and then beating more quickly.Blind Horse Spring Pow Wow, Blind Horse Pow Wow, Blind Horse Intertribal Pow Wow, Blind Horse Fall Powwow, Blind Horse Powwow, Blind Horse Intertribal Powwow, Alabama Powwow, Alabama Pow Wow[/su_spoiler][/su_accordion] [su_accordion][su_spoiler title=”Pow Wow Etiquette”] There are several guidelines that you should know as a courtesy to the Pow Wow participants:
