Feel the excitement of the American Revolution at Locust Grove! Step into the year 1778 with this Revolutionary War Encampment as George Rogers Clark and his Illinois Regiment of Virginia begin their western campaign. Visit with soldiers and camp followers\, learn 18th-century recipes in the hearth kitchen\, and participate in recruitment for new\, pint-sized troops. Be sure to visit the blacksmith\, woodworker\, and other tradespeople to discover more about daily life during the Revolution! Admission: $6 for adults\, free for children 12 and under\, historic house tours included. Period reenactors set up tents\, don period dress and live as Clark and his troops lived — and they invite the public to interact with history. It’s really a way for the reenactors to share their knowledge and their love of history with visitors\, who can come and see history firsthand\,” Williams said. \nAbout Historic Locust Grove\nHistoric Locust Grove is located in Louisville\, Kentucky. Sitting high above the Ohio River the house was built in 1792 by William Croghan and his wife Lucy Clark Croghan.
