Come visit and experience firsthand Confederate and Union Armies clashing in battle. Infantry\, Artillery and Cavalry elements will be engaged in controlling this vital ground during the Battle of Warm Springs Reenactment. Visit period vendors and buy what the soldiers would have bought. Stroll through the camps and talk with the soldiers\, listen to their stories\, enjoy the camaraderie of their fires and songs. \n[embedyt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMHMeMgKW3w&width=540&height=333[/embedyt] \nThroughout the Civil War\, the mountain passes and roads between Tennessee and North Carolina were vital for the movement of troops and supplies. None were more important than the Buncombe Turnpike built in 1828 that ran through the mountains at Warm Springs\, North Carolina. This area would see many conflicts throughout the war\, with both sides trying to gain control of the area. \nThe Civil War in Madison County\, North Carolina\nBecause Madison County was a “border county” in a “border state” during the Civil War\, there are many examples of communities as well as families divided in their allegiances. There were no major battles in Madison County although both armies moved through the area and Madison County furnished troops for both sides. A few skirmishes were fought within the County: one at Cuffey Field on Spring Creek and a second on the hotel grounds at Warm Springs (the former name of the town of Hot Springs). Each year since 2008\, the Hot Springs Resort & Spa has hosted a Civil War re-enactment of that skirmish\, the Battle of Warm Springs Reenactment\, on the first weekend of November. \n\nReenactor registration is $5.00 for pre-registration by October 15\, $15.00 after that date.\nIf you intend on renting a cabin or room during the Battle of Warm Springs Reenactment weekend\, you should reserve it soon as they will fill up fast\nAn evening meal will be served for pre-registered re-enactors. You must have your pass.\nReenactor Registration Form Download\nArtillery/Cavalry registrations need to contact 2NCMI BEFORE registering.\n\nLocation\nHot Springs Resort and Spa Grounds\n315 Bridge Street\nHot Springs\, NC 28743\n(828) 622-7676 \nMark your calendar today so you don’t miss the next Battle of Warm Springs Reenactment in Hot Springs\, NC. \nTags: Battle of Warm Springs Reenactment\, Battle of Warm Springs Civil War Reenactment\, Warm Springs Civil War Reenactment \nView other Civil War Reenactments & Other Events
