The Fort Michilimackinac Reenactment Pageant is a reenactment of the events that took place at Fort Michilimackinac with a story that begins with friendship\, respect and cooperative trading between the Native Americans\, French and the Voyageurs and Traders. Following the French and Indian War\, the Fort comes under the rule of the British\, who treat the Native Americans as servants. The great Ottawa Chief Pontiac calls for a war council and devises a blueprint to decimate the British\, which includes the playing of an innocent baggataway game. Will Chief Pontiac’s plan succeed? You have to come to the Fort Michilimackinac Reenactment Pageant and see! \n\nFort Michilimackinac Reenactment Pageant\nThe Fort Michilimackinac Reenactment Pageant cast consists of community volunteers who portray British and French Soldiers\, Colonial Women and Men\, Native Americans and Voyageurs. The Fort Michilimackinac Reenactment Pageant is the longest running free Memorial Day historical program in U.S. More than 400 cast members take part in the three-day Memorial Day weekend pageant that brings to life the 1763 Fort Michilimackinac battle between the French\, British\, and Native Americans. \nThe Fort Michilimackinac Reenactment Pageant cast members are clad in period costumes and demonstrate the way of life for residents of Northern Michigan in the 1760s. A highlight of the weekend is the Memorial Day Parade through the streets of Mackinaw City that includes more than 100 bands\, acts\, and floats. \nAdmission (to Fort):\nAdults $12.50\nChild (5-12) $7.50\nUnder 5 Free \nFort Michilimackinac Reenactment Pageant Schedule (subject to change)\nSaturday\n9:00 am\, Fort Michilimackinac opens\, Voyageurs Shoot at the range (Windmill farms) (Sunday if rain)\n1:00 pm\, Grand Parade\n3:00 pm\, 18th Century fashion show\, fort parade grounds\n3:30 pm\, Reenactment at Fort Michilimackinac\n8:30 pm\, Fireside Activities Voyageurs Camp\nDusk\, Fireworks display water front state dock area.\nAfter fireworks\, Camp Activities (Voyageurs Camp) \nFort Michilimackinac Reenactment Pageant Mini-Gallery\n\n \nSunday\n9:00 am\, Fort opens\n9:30 am\, Voyageurs Knive & Hawk (Voyageurs Camp)\n10:30 am\, Voyageurs children’s game\, high school\n2pm\, 18th Century Mackinac Fashion Show\, fort parade grounds\n2:30 pm\, Reenactment at Fort Michilimackinac\n4:30 pm\,Voyageurs Other Competitions (Voyageurs Camp) \nMonday\n8:30 am – 9:30 am\, Memorial Day Service: Marina Park/Cemetery\n9:00 am\, Fort opens\n2:00 pm\, 18th Century Mackinac Fashion Show\, fort parade grounds\n2:30 pm\, Reenactment at Fort Michilimackinac \nLocation\nFort Michilimackinac\n102 Straits Ave\nMackinaw City\, Michigan 49701\n(231) 436-5563 \nAbout Fort Michilimackinac \nFort Michilimackinac was an 18th-century French\, and later British\, fort and trading post at the Straits of Mackinac; it was built on the northern tip of the lower peninsula of the present-day state of Michigan in the United States. Built around 1715\, and abandoned in 1783\, it was located along the Straits\, which connected Lake Huron and Lake Michigan of the Great Lakes of North America. Present-day Mackinaw City developed around the site of the fort\, which has been designated as a National Historic Landmark. The Fort Michilimackinac was relocated to the new Fort Mackinac (don’t get them confused) on Mackinac Island during the American Revolution\, with some of the buildings moved across the ice in the winter of 1780-1781. The remaining structures were burnt to the ground. \n \nMark your calendar today so you don’t miss the next Fort Michilimackinac Reenactment Pageant on Memorial Day Weekend at historic Fort Michilimackinac in Mackinaw City\, Michigan. \nTags: Fort Michilimackinac Reenactment Pageant\, Michigan Voyageur Rendezvous\, Michigan Rendezvous\, French & Indian War Reenactment \nView other French & Indian War Reenactments and Other Events\nView other Longhunter Rendezvous or Encampments\nView other Voyageur Rendezvous or Encampments

DESCRIPTION:2019 Voyageur Rendezvous at Grand Kankakee Marsh County Park\n\nRate This Event\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nThe 33rd Annual Voyageur Rendezvous at Grand Kankakee Marsh County Park on May 18-19\, 2019 in Hebron brings 18th-century history in Indiana to life. Peek into the lives of those who would have lived or traded along the waterways of the Midwest more than 250 years ago when the marshes were a source of valuable furs desired by merchant traders to take back to Europe. \nThe Voyageur Rendezvous at Grand Kankakee Marsh County Park welcomes visitors into encampments of French Canadian voyageurs\, French and British militia\, civilians and settlers\, and Native Americans. Artisans will demonstrate some traditional crafts of those times. The nearly 100 costumed reenactors adhere to details of the time period in their costumes and camps\, according to Robertson\, and share that sense of history with visitors to the event. \nThe Voyageur Rendezvous at Grand Kankakee Marsh County Park is a family friendly event with lots of fun and interactive activities for the kids. Visit the Children’s Trading Post to pick up a scavenger hunt list. This list is not items to collect\, but rather items to look for at the event. Talk to anybody in costume to get information on the list item you’re looking for and get them to sign the form. When leaving\, the child may bring the completed sheet back to the trading post to trade for an item. The voyageur rendezvous is fun for all ages\, and it’s immersive — sights\, sounds\, smells and activities of that historic period. \nHours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday\nAdmission: $5.00 with children 5 and younger admitted free \nVoyageur Rendezvous Highlights\nEvent Highlights include Opening and Closing Ceremonies • Arrival of Voyageurs by canoe • Trade Session with the Native Americans • Storytelling • Tomahawk Throw • Fashion Show • Hot Food\, Cold Sarsaparilla and more. Saturday’s scheduled activities include canoe “bobber races” and storytelling. While on Sunday there will be a period clothing fashion show\, following which the public will be invited to join in historic dances\, accompanied by the fife and drum corps. There will also be historic games and make-and-take projects at the trading post\, tomahawk throwing for older children\, and fife and drum music on both days. Food will be available at the site and there will also be a vendor of period items. \nDaily Opening Ceremony\nAn opening ceremony begins the historical reenactment festivities each day at 10:30 a.m. and presents some perspective to the event. The British military\, French military and civilian re-enactors come from the camps and the Native Americans arrive. They meet at the flag pole. One of the re-enactors holds up a wampum belt in a gesture of welcome. Then three flags are raised: the French\, British and historical American flag of the time as the fife and drum corps plays the song of each nation from that historical period. A little later\, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday\, the voyageurs arrive. Their landings are another highlight of the event as they paddle in with their big canoes loaded with goods. \nLocation\nGrand Kankakee Marsh County Park\n21690 Range Line Road\nHebron\, IN 46341\n(219) 552-0033 \nFor More Information\nLake County Parks & Rec: Call 219-769-7275; Email info@lakecountyparks.com \n \nWho were these Voyageurs?\nTo equate the voyageurs of the fur trade era in the Great Lakes area to something today\, consider all the trucks on today’s roads. When voyageurs plied the area waters this was the wilderness. The rivers then were like the highways today\, and were very important to the history and the development and the economic growth in the area. \nHistorically\, the voyageurs landed and exchanged gifts with the natives first\, before any trading. They might spend a whole day exchanging gifts\, generally with the men\, after which most of the trading would be done with the women. The natives had the furs and the number one item the voyageurs offered was textiles. \nWhat is the Difference in a Mountain Man Rendezvous and Voyageur Rendezvous?\n \nSchool Day: Friday\nAdvance reservation required.\nMorning tour time slot: 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.\nAfternoon tour time slot: Noon – 2 p.m.\nMinimum (20 students); Maximum (140 students) per time slot\n$2 per person\, including chaperones and teachers; $20 minimum\nReservations and deposit required at least ten business days in advance\nAppropriate for 4th – 6th grade curriculum\nReserve your time slot now. Space is limited and is closed when filled.\nCall 219-769-PARK\, M-F 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. \nHistory books open wide and come to life as your students visit the 18th century. The Fur Trade Era is bustling with activity when you arrive. Your students will see how the French Voyageurs played an important role in early commerce and trade right here in Northwest Indiana. Native Americans traded furs while the Voyageurs\, British\, and French clashed over ownership of the land. There is plenty for students to see\, hear and learn. They will feel like they just spent a day in the 18th century. You too\, will enjoy jumping back into history! The tour is completely outside\, so please remind your students to dress for the weather. Upon registration\, teachers will be sent a confirmation packet\, complete with pre or post activity sheets. \n \nMark your calendar today so you don’t miss the next Voyageur Rendezvous at Grand Kankakee Marsh County Park in Hebron\, Indiana on the third weekend in May. \nTags: Voyageur Rendezvous at Grand Kankakee Marsh County Park\, Grand Kankakee Marsh County Park Voyageur Rendezvous\, Indiana Voyageur Rendezvous\, Voyageur Rendezvous \nView other Voyageur Rendezvous or Encampments

Re-enactor participation varies by weekend and weather conditions. \nYear Round\nOn the third weekend (Saturday and Sunday) of each of month\, Fort Taylor Living History Weekend offers you the opportunity to experience life in the fort as it was during the Civil War. \nLocation\nFort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park\n601 Howard England Way\nKey West\, FL 33040 \nMore Information: Kevin Bowes\, kevin.bowes@dep.state.fl.us (305) 292-6850 \nThe park is open from 8:00 a.m. until sundown\, 365 days a year. The fort closes at 5:00 p.m. \nAdmission Fees:\n$6.00* per vehicle. Limit 2-8 people per vehicle.\n$2.00* Pedestrians\, bicyclists\, extra passengers\, passengers in vehicle with holder of Annual Individual Entrance Pass.\n$4.00* Single-occupant vehicle or motorcycle.\n* Plus $.50 per person Monroe County Surcharge. \nHistory of Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park\nSpanish explorers first surveyed the island of Key West in 1513. After the Florida territory was transferred to the U.S.\, the Navy established a small depot here in 1822 to rid the area of pirates. Fishing\, salvaging wrecked ships and cigar manufacturing became the driving economic forces behind the island’s growth making Key West the richest city in Florida in the 1890s. The U.S. Army began construction of Fort Taylor\, named for President Zachary Taylor\, in 1845. With secession and the beginning of war in 1861\, Fort Taylor remained under federal control — one of only three fortresses in Florida to do so — and served as the headquarters for the Federal Navy’s East Gulf Coast Blockading Squadron staying on ‘active duty’ status through 1947. Today\, the fort is a National Historic Landmark containing the largest cache of Civil War-era seacoast cannons in the U.S. \nCannon and Arches\nUnion troops took control of Fort Zachary Taylor early in the Civil War and maintained it through the duration of the war. They made use of the fort’s impressive artillery\, including 10-inch Rodman and Columbiad cannons to detain blockade-running ships seeking to supply the Confederacy. In 1968\, a large supply of Civil War-era guns and ammunition were discovered in the Fort’s buried arsenal. In fact\, Fort Zachary Taylor held the largest collection of Civil War-era cannons in the United States. \nFort Moat\nSoon after the park opened to the public\, a contractor began the process of digging a moat around the fortress. There were two reasons for the project. One was to prevent easy entry into the structure. The other was to give the illusion of the fort in its early days\, surrounded by water. The end result was an attractive division between the fort and the beach and sea beyond. \nMark your calendar today so you don’t miss the next Fort Taylor Living History Weekend on the third Saturday and Sunday of each month at Historic Fort Taylor in Key West\, Florida. \nTags: Fort Taylor Living History Weekend\, Fort Zachary Taylor Living History Weekend\, Ft Taylor Living History Weekend \nView other Civil War Reenactments & Other Events

The fort was reconstructed during the Great Depression and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965. \nThe Fort Loudoun State Historic Park features a visitor center/museum\, reconstructed Fort Loudoun\, and stabilized ruins of Tellico Blockhouse (1794-1807). Fort Loudoun was constructed by the British Colony of South Carolina to ally the Overhill Cherokee Nation in the fight against the French and to guarantee that trade would continue between the Cherokee and South Carolina. \nBut relations between South Carolina and the Cherokee Nation broke down and the Cherokee captured Fort Loudoun and its garrison. It is thought that the Cherokees destroyed the fort shortly thereafter. The blockhouse served as a gateway (with passes required) into Cherokee land\, a trading post\, and a factory to teach new skills to the Cherokees. \nPicnic tables\, fishing pier\, hiking trails and boat dock are available. Boat launching ramps are available off site. The Historic Area hosts many seasonal events\, such as Fort Loudoun Garrison Weekends with reenactors\, an 18th Century Trade Faire\, and student field trips. \n \nMark your calendar today so you won’t miss the next Spring Fort Loudoun Garrison Weekend at Fort Loudoun State Park in Vonore\, Tennessee. \nTags: Spring Fort Loudoun Garrison Weekend\, Fort Loudoun Garrison Weekend\, French & Indian War Encampment\, French & Indian War Reenactment \nView other French & Indian War Reenactments and Other Events

Experience North Carolina’s internal power struggle on the eve of revolution! On May 16\, 1771 when a group of rebellious backcountry farmers who called themselves “Regulators” met the loyalist militia of Governor William Tryon in open battle. “Fight for the Backcountry” will feature a recreation of the Battle of Alamance\, and will explore life in the backcountry in the early 1770s\, as the American colonies stood on the brink of revolution. \n\nBattle of Alamance Reenactment\nThe weekend program at the Battle of Alamance Reenactment will feature a battle reenactment\, military drills\, artillery and musket drills\, and an audience with Colonial Gov. William Tryon. There will be demonstrations from cooks\, tradespeople and a colonial era surgeon. The Sons of the American Revolution will share a Patriots Day Commemoration Ceremony. There will be an Anglican Church service Sunday morning\, denoting the powerful Church of England. \nThe Battle of Alamance Reenactment recaptures the scene of the conflict that involved almost 2\,000 backcountry farmers facing 1\,000 royal militia at the Battle of Alamance of May 16\, 1771. Known as Regulators because of a desire to regulate public officials\, the colonists were poorly trained and outgunned. The Regulator uprising was crushed\, but was a preamble to the Revolutionary War only five years later. \nAdmission\nAdults $2\nChildren under 12 FREE \nHours\nSaturday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.\nSunday 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. \nReenactment Participants\nParticipants must Register\nParticipants Impression Guidelines \nBattle of Alamance Reenactment Mini-Gallery\n\n \nLocation\nAlamance Battleground State Historic Site\n5803 S NC Highway 62\nBurlington\, NC 27215 \nAlamance Battleground is within the Division of State Historic Sites of the N.C. It pitted two groups of North Carolinians against each other. There were approximately 2\,000 backcountry farmers called Regulators and around 1\,000 militia troops (citizen soldiers) under the command of Royal Governor William Tryon involved in the two-hour battle. Having officers\, a battle plan\, and more weaponry (which included eight cannon)\, the royal governor and his men easily defeated the ill-prepared Regulators. Governor Tryon reported that nine of his men were killed and sixty-one wounded in the military engagement. Although undetermined\, the Regulator casualties would end up being much greater. It is possible that as many as 100 Regulators may have been killed. The Battle of Alamance officially ended the so-called Regulator movement that began in the 1760’s.[su_accordion][su_spoiler title=”Read More”]\nUnfair taxation\, dishonest and corrupt government officials\, and the lack of representation were all serious concerns of the Regulators. In most cases\, government officials (sheriffs\, clerks of court\, registers of deeds\, etc.) attained their positions through appointments by men in power\, not by elections involving the citizenry of the colony. The Regulators sought a better regulation of these government officials and more control of their own affairs. Geographical\, social\, and economic factors all had effects on the Regulator movement. \nAlthough the Battle of Alamance was not the first official battle of the American Revolution\, it did provide some valuable insight for revolutionaries as discontent with British rule continued to increase. For the approximately 6\,000 Regulators who took the oath of allegiance to the Crown\, many of them remained loyal to England during the War for Independence. Some of the militia serving under Governor Tryon\, who gained valuable military experience at the battle\, would end up fighting against the British. Richard Caswell\, the first man to serve as governor of the state of North Carolina\, was one of those to serve in the militia and later become an integral part of this country’s independence movement.[/su_spoiler][/su_accordion] \n \nMark your calendar today so you don’t miss the next Battle of Alamance Reenactment: Fight for the Backcountry in May at the Alamance Battleground State Historic Site in Burlington\, North Carolina. \nTags: Battle of Alamance Reenactment\, lamance Battle Reenactment\, Revolutionary War Reenactment \nView other Revolutionary War Reenactments\, Musters\, Encampments & Other Events

Each year on the 3rd weekend in May\, hundreds of Colonial\, British\, and Native reenactors converge at the re-created Fort Watauga at Sycamore Shoals to relive the days when America’s first frontier was the land beyond the blue ridge. Several Revolutionary War living history units will be in attendance and will make the 18th century come to life during the weekend. \n\nSiege at Ft. Watauga\nThe Siege at Fort Watauga is a live retelling of the Cherokee attack brought on the settlers of the Watauga valley in the summer of 1776. At Sycamore Shoals\, Fort Watauga offered protection to nearly 200 settlers during a two-week siege led by Cherokee War Chief\, Old Abram\, and 300 warriors. Numerous other individuals also participate in the event portraying many 18th century walks of life including Cherokee Natives\, Backcountry Hunters\, Farmers\, Housewives\, African Slaves\, Commoners and Gentry. \nImmerse yourself in 18th century frontier life as you witness daily aspects of colonial culture. Take advantage of colonial merchants selling period wares in “Sutler’s Row”. See the clash of two cultures as the attack on fort Watauga is recreated both days. \nBring the entire family to the Siege at Fort Watauga and see how your ancestors played a crucial role in our region’s history and in the formation of our nation. Hear the rattle of muskets\, smell the campfire smoke\, and see the 18th century come to life at the Siege of Ft. Watauga. No generators in modern camp unless authorized by the booshway.* \nContact Information\nplainsmenblackpowderclub@gmail.com \nDuring the great fur trade era\, a rendezvous was the time all the trappers would get together to sell their furs and buy supplies from the “traders” who would bring supplies to the rendezvous site. At the rendezvous\, the men would renew old friendships and engage in various competitions to test their skills of every kind and character. There are black powder clubs in every state of the United States\, in Canada and even in Europe. There are several rendezvous held annually in our region\, including Bemidji\, Perham\, Detroit Lakes\, and Gary\, South Dakota. \nToday’s Rendezvous\nAt each rendezvous\, a “living history” or period encampment is set up and participants dress in period clothing and use period equipment. An area is also usually set aside for people to camp in modern tents or campers\, known as “tin tepees.” This allows people to participate who for a variety of reasons choose not to have a fur trade era (pre-1840s) period camp. There are events where only period correct camps are allowed on site. \nCompetition Events\nThe sponsoring club of any rendezvous runs many activities\, usually over a weekend. There are “national rendezvous” around the country that last a week or more. For example\, at the Plainsmen Black Powder Club Rendezvous\, we offer a variety of shooting competitions. There are also competitions in hawk and knife throwing\, primitive archery\, games for children\, cooking contests\, homemade wine judging\, fire starting contests\, and many other activities. \nAbout Plainsmen Black Powder Club\nThe Plainsmen Black Powder Club started in 1972 with a small group of men who had a passion for muzzle-loading guns and the ways of the past. We try to portray the ways of the mountain men. Some call it “living history”. Today\, the club is more family-oriented by dressing the parts of the past at rendezvous throughout the US. We dress anywhere from the 1750s to 1840s. At rendezvous we have shooting competitions\, trail walks\, tomahawk and knife throws\, women’s and children’s games. We can also be found just sitting and enjoying the peace and quiet. \n \nMark your calendar today so you don’t miss the next Plainsmen Black Powder Club Rendezvous in May outside of Kindred\, North Dakota. \nTags: Plainsmen Black Powder Club Rendezvous\, Plainsmen Mountain Man Rendezvous\, North Dakota Mountain Man Rendezvous\, North Dakota Rendezvous \nView Other North Dakota Rendezvous

While the event is hosted and coordinated by the Wilderness Road State Park\, the Friends of Wilderness Road sponsor the event. The station takes its name from Joseph Martin\, who led the expedition that identified that tract of land where they erected a stockaded fort\, some crude cabins\, and planted a corn crop. These efforts at settlement proved to be useless\, as an Indian attack occurred in the fall of 1769 and the station was abandoned. Joseph Martin would not be long absent from the station\, and in January 1775 returned to Powell’s Valley with a party of 16 or 18 men who built a more permanent station. As the last fortified station along the Wilderness Road prior to reaching the new lands being opened in Kentucky\, Martin’s Station was a well-known stop for the early settlers. \nMark your calendar today so you don’t miss the next Raid at Martin’s Station reenactment at the Wilderness Road State Park in Ewing\, Virginia. \nTags: Martin’s Station Reenactment\, Martin’s Station \nView other Revolutionary War Reenactments & Other Events\nView other Market Fair & Trade Fair Events

While the original fort that Lancaster Lupton built has long been gone\, a dedicated group of individuals began in 2003 to reconstruct the fort. The reconstructed Fort Lancaster\, as it was known in its original period of operation\, 1836-1844\, was completed and dedicated in 2011.[su_accordion][su_spoiler title=”Read More”]\nA visit to Lancaster Lupton’s trade fort is an experience of going back in time to when an individual with a vision and entrepreneurial spirit took risks to establish a trade enterprise on the wild prairie along the front range of the Rocky Mountains. Lancaster Lupton first came to the area with a military expedition in 1835. By 1836 Lupton had resigned his commission and was bringing skilled craftsman and labor from the Mexican village of Taos north to build his trade fort. By 1837-38 he was trading with the Arapahoe and Cheyenne tribes. Come see his trade fort and walk through the inner plaza to visit the blacksmith and carpenter shops\, living quarters\, kitchen and food preparation rooms\, trade rooms\, cantina and storage room with historic artifacts.[/su_spoiler][/su_accordion] \nAbout South Platte Valley Historic Park\nHistoric Fort Lupton (aka Fort Lancaster) and South Platte Valley Settlement Historic Park encompasses 97 acres of land along the South Platte River just northwest of the city of Fort Lupton\, Colorado. The land consists of a large natural and camping area immediately along the river and a high bench of land where the original Fort Lancaster was located.[su_accordion][su_spoiler title=”Read More”]\nAlong the river\, in groves of cottonwood trees are camping areas that can be used by Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops with reservations. These camping areas are also used by the re-enactment department of the SPVHS – the Tallow River Trappers – to hold periodic rendezvous events. Immediately along the river are nature areas that are home to deer\, turkey\, foxes and other animals and birds. At the north end of the historic park is a muzzleloading shooting range leased by the Fort Lupton Muzzleloading Club. \nStart your tour of the historic park at the re-creation of Fort Lancaster\, which was in operation from 1836 to 1844. Move down the path and see the restored trapper cabin from the 1850s\, which was originally located down along the Platte River in Adams County. Moving further down the path\, your will see both the Independence School built in 1875 and the Donelson homestead house built in the 1860s. The Donelson House and the Independence School represent the settlement of the Platte Valley started by the early fur trappers and traders.[/su_spoiler][/su_accordion] \n \nTags: Fort Lupton Heritage Fair\, Colorado History Festival\, History Timeline\nDon’t miss the next Fort Lupton Heritage Fair at the South Platte Valley Historic Park in Fort Lupton\, Colorado. Far different from the original mountain men rendezvous\, it was organized as a family event. Then called the Black Powder Rendezvous\, it was moderately successful\, attracting about 500 people. It was moved to its present location in 1986 due to the need for additional space and to take advantage of the natural beauty of the site a well as the traditional significance of the river in the lives of early settlers. \nThe first three rendezvous were sponsored and organized by the Hickory County Historical Society. During those years it grew tremendously\, both in scope and popularity. Due to this rapid growth and its increasing complexity\, a new organization\, the Pomme de Terre Rendezvous Association was formed to sponsor the event. The Rendezvous Association\, made up of local people and organizations interested in ensuring that area history is preserved. One way of doing so is through such annual events as the Pomme de Terre Rendezvous. In 2006\, the Hermitage Lions Club assumed the overall sponsorship of the event that is organized and operated by the Rendezvous Committee. \nMark your calendar today so you don’t miss the next Pomme de Terre Rendezvous at Lake Outlet Park in Carson’s Corner\, Missouri. \n \nTags: Muzzleloader \, Pomme de Terre Mountain Man Rendezvous\, Pomme de Terre Voyageur Rendezvous\, Missouri Rendezvous\, Missouri Voyageur Rendezvous\, Missouri Mountain Man Rendezvous \nView other Fur-Trade-Era Rendezvous

Period reenactors set up tents\, don period dress and live as Clark and his troops lived — and they invite the public to interact with history. It’s really a way for the reenactors to share their knowledge and their love of history with visitors\, who can come and see history firsthand\,” Williams said. \nAbout Historic Locust Grove\nHistoric Locust Grove is located in Louisville\, Kentucky. Sitting high above the Ohio River the house was built in 1792 by William Croghan and his wife Lucy Clark Croghan. It was a bustling household that often became a gathering place for the other Clark siblings including both General George Rogers Clark and William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery and the many nieces and nephews of the large extended family. \nMark your calendar today so you won’t miss the next Locust Grove Revolutionary War Encampment at Historic Locust Grove in Riverwood\, Kentucky in April. \n \nTags: Locust Grove Revolutionary War Encampment\, Revolutionary War Encampment \nView other Revolutionary War Reenactments & Other Events
