DESCRIPTION:Experience pre-1840s fur trade life at the Bear Lake Rendezvous in Bear Lake\, Utah. The Bear Lake Rendezvous is Living History. It is helping people learn about the rich and colorful moments of the fur trade era on the hallowed ground of rendezvous past. The Rendezvous\, which takes place during the Raspberry Festival\, features pre-1840 Mountain Man Traders\, archery shoot\, period correct food vendors\, 1840 craftsmen demonstrations\, raffle\, black powder shooting\, knife and tomahawk throwing\, and primitive cooking demos. \nThe Bear Lake Rendezvous is unique among most similar Living History events in that it is held at the site of two actual and documented Mountain Man Rendezvous that took place in 1827 and 1828 during that short period of time known as the Fur Trade Era. \nBear Lake Rendezvous Visitors\nThe Bear Lake Rendezvous is fun for the whole family. Only $3 per person. Come and enjoy the sights\, sounds and smells of an authentic mountain man rendezvous. Guests and visitors to the Bear Lake Rendezvous DO NOT have to be dressed in period correct clothing. Flip flops and shorts are fine. DESCRIPTION:2017 Howell’s Encampment Rendezvous\nExperience pre-1850s mountain man life at Howell’s Encampment Rendezvous on August 23-27\, 2017 near Rockvale\, Montana.  The annual Howell’s Encampment Rendezvous is sponsored by the Rocky Fork Free Trappers shooting club. Participants must be dress in pre-1850 attire.  The rendezvous is NOT open to the general public. \nHowell’s Encampment Rendezvous is an invitational pre-1850 event\, requiring period attire and camp. Therefore\, please do not post this page or info without permission from the event organizers. We provide the historical site\, some firewood and the hooters. Ice is available in nearby Rockvale or Laurel. We look forward to rendezvousing with you! \nAll paid participants/campers are encouraged to have a trade blanket/tent at no extra charge. You MUST pay camp fee to trade. At about 12 miles you come to Rockvale. Turn left directly across the highway from the Exxon onto Grapevine Road. This is just before Hwy 310 goes left toward Bridger. \nOn Grapevine Road\, go about 1-1/2 miles to Gibson Road. Turn right\, cross Rock Creek and go about ¼ mile to Emergency Locator address 130 Gibson Road. Turn left into the property by the barn and carefully cross the RR tracks.
