DESCRIPTION:2019 MSU American Indian Council Pow Wow\n\nRate This Event\n \n                                    \n                                        \n                                        \n                                        \n                                        \n                                    \nJoin us for the 44th MSU American Indian Council Pow Wow on March 29-30\, 2019 at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman\, Montana. The Powwow opens Friday night at 6 p.m. with the grand entry. Grand entries will also be held on Saturday at noon and 6 p.m. Experience the sights and sounds of the pow wow\, the dancing\, singing\, and colorful regalia representing numerous tribes and dance styles. \n\nMSU American Indian Council Pow Wow\nOther events Saturday include the 5k and 1 mile fun run; American Indian Alumni Breakfast at in the Hall of Fame room in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse; and Basketball Tournament. There is no admission charged for this event\, which is open to the public. \nMSU’s American Indian Council works for months to prepare for their annual Powwow\, being held Friday and Saturday. The event — free and open to all members of the public — is expected to draw 5\,000 people to the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse to witness and celebrate Indian culture. \nThe MSU American Indian Council raises tens of thousands of dollars to put on the Powwow\, Through Indian taco sales at the Christmas Stroll and the International Food Bazaar they’ve raised enough to host the event and offer lots of prize money. SUMMARY:Standing Arrow Powwow
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 40th Annual Standing Arrow Powwow on July 13-16\, 2017 at the Elmo Powwow Grounds in Elmo\, Montana. The Standing Arrow Powwow will bring dancers\, drummers\, vendors and visitors from many states\, including Canada\, to Elmo the third weekend in July\, when the Kootenai nation and its Kootenai Cultural Committee once again hosts the Standing Arrow Powwow. All nations and the general public are welcome to enjoy the gathering and experience the sights\, sounds and smells found only at powwows. \n[embedyt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NpXI0-cl88&width=540&height=333[/embedyt] \nThe large powwow arbor\, along with its closeness to Flathead Lake\, makes the Standing Arrow Powwow a favorite with many powwow families. Campers\, tents and tipis are welcome (tipi poles are provided). People come to powwows for many reasons\, some to participate\, to enjoy and celebrate their culture. Other come as visitors to get a look at another way of life. Whatever your reason for coming to the Standing Arrow Powwow\, you are sure to feel welcome and to enjoy the family friendly event and weekend. \nThe fun begins at 11 a.m. and there will be potluck barbecue so Yellowman invited the community to come and bring a dish to share. Tribal health social services will be available to provide information on what they offer. There will be native games and Kootenai language as well as other activities\, Yellowman added. \nFacilities: Tipi poles\, firewood and showers for campers are provided. For people craving an Indian taco or some frybread and chokecherry jelly\, there will be lots of food vendors.
