This “journey through time” is held on Memorial Day Weekend and is one of the best free events in Michigan! Children and adults will get a hands on experience with these featured historical timelines: 1600s Voyageurs/Fur Trade Era\, French & Indian War\, Revolutionary War\, War of 1812\, Texas Revolution\, Civil War\, Indian Wars\, Spanish-American War\, World War 1\, World War 2\, Korean War\, and the Vietnam War. The public is invited to attend this free event and participate in a variety of festivities which will begin on Friday. \n\nColdwater River Through Time Living History Event\nThe Coldwater River Through Time Living History Event is held in conjunction with the annual Branch County Civil War Days. This living history event is filled with civil war historical clothing\, Union and Confederate units with live\, authentic cannons and firearms to historically complete the Civil War drills and Battle reenactment. DESCRIPTION:2018 Fort Fest\n\nRate This Event\n \n                                    \n                                        \n                                        \n                                        \n                                        \n                                    \n\nJoin us at Fort Fest on August 17-19\, 2018 at Fort Jennings Park in Fort Jennings\, Ohio for our 1812 Encampment and Military Appreciation event. Every third weekend in August\, the rural community of Fort Jennings\, Ohio swells from a population of 500 to several thousand people who gather to celebrate our military history and our veterans at Fort Fest. This three day Fort Fest event features exhibits from all over the United States including the Veitnam era helicopters of the Huey 369 Organization and The Moving Wall\, the traveling 1/2 scale version of the Vietnam Wall in Washington D.C. \n[embedyt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vhwSBGFgMA&width=650&height=400&[/embedyt] \nFort Fest in Fort Jennings\nAlong the historic banks of the Auglaize River\, an 1812 encampment of reenactors can be found with period artisans\, musicians\, and many artillery and cannon displays. Black powder and cannon fire fill the air at live War of 1812 reenactments that take place at twilight on Friday and again on Saturday afternoon. The Vietnam re-enactment group\, The Wolf Hounds\, make camp near a large military vehicle show held on Saturday and perform live re-enactments of Vietnam battles utilizing the Huey helicopters. Fort Fest includes an enormous display of military memorabilia and artifacts is housed at the Jennings Memorial building built to honor Lt. Col. William Jennings who established the Fort during the War of 1812. Many other military displays and tributes will be present including the Ohio MIA/POW wall and the Tomb of the Uknown Soldier. \nOther Fort Fest activities include a motorcade/motorcycle run\, wine tasting\, car show\, and entertainment featuring Nashville Crush and Midwest Dueling Pianos. Over $20\,000 in cash and prizes can be won by attendees during the weekend of Fort Fest\, and a variety of food and beverage options are available. Flights on the Huey helicopter are arranged on a first come\, first serve basis and the cost of these flights goes directly to the American Huey 369 Organization\, however ALL Fort Fest military exhibits\, reenactments\, and entertainment are FREE! \nHelp us to commemorate our military history and the contributions of all our beloved veterans.
