2018-19 District I Mille Lacs New Years Eve Sobriety Pow Wow

Everyone is invited to the 12th Annual District I Mille Lacs New Years Eve Sobriety Pow Wow on December 31, 2018 at the District I Community Center in Onammia, Minnesota. Mille Lacs Band Behavioral Health and the District I Legislative Office have been sponsoring the District 1 Mille Lacs New Years Eve Sobriety Pow Wow since 2007 to provide a place to celebrate the coming of a New Year in a sober environment.

This developing tradition offers the opportunity for those struggling with addiction to have a place to celebrate sobriety during a time where there would have been chemical usage. Some participants had been sober for 30 days, others for 30-plus years; some came from down the road, others from Aazhoomog, Minisinaakwaang or Grand Portage.
