The Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma hosts its annual Iowa Tribal Powwow each Father&#8217;s Day Weekend, inviting the everyone to attend a weekend full of events that includes traditional camping, contest dancing, intertribal dancing, social dancing, arts and craft vendors and plenty of native food favorites like fry bread.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-video fusion-youtube fusion-aligncenter\" style=\"--awb-max-width:800px;--awb-max-height:492px;--awb-width:100%;\"><div class=\"video-shortcode\"><div class=\"fluid-width-video-wrapper\" style=\"padding-top:61.5%;\" ><iframe title=\"YouTube video player 1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KhQQwX-rcgI?wmode=transparent&autoplay=0\" width=\"800\" height=\"492\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture;\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align:center; margin-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 10px;\">Iowa Tribal Powwow<\/h3>\n<p>The Iowa Tribal Powwow features gourd dancing, as well as dance competition categories that include cloth, buckskin, jingle, fancy shawl, straight, traditional, grass and fancy dancing. Juniors, teens, women and men will all be represented. Don&#8217;t miss the Grand Entry that will be start each evening&#8217;s dance session. This Grand Entry is the time when veterans, chiefs, royalty, and dancers make a grand entrance into the sacred arena. Flags are carried by veterans to honor our fallen, retired, and present veterans. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a time of new experiences along with family and friends.<\/p>\n<p>The Iowa Tribal Powwow is a celebration of homecoming and fellowship amongst the Bahkhoje people. It is a way of renewing old friendships and building new ones. The powwow is a celebration of life. It is a full weekend tribal citizens from across America attending.
