The event is hosted in celebration of Native American Heritage Month by the Native Heritage Gathering, Inc., the Indian River Flute Circle and the Native Rhythms Festival Committee. Thursday is a setup day, with vendor check-in between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Over 40 vendors, cultural displays, exhibitors and workshops compliment a full stage program of award winning musicians and the current World Champion Hoop Dancer, Cody Boettner. There will be competitions for flute-playing, flute-making, and art creation. This family-friendly festival will also host a wide variety of free workshops that focus on flute, percussion and other instrument playing, technical and collaborative techniques, crafting and art training, and much more. Extended workshops for advanced flute and percussion students will also be offered for a fee. In addition, vendors will sell musical instruments, Native-style and environmental arts &amp; crafts and food. Presentations and displays by a variety of non-profit historical preservation and ecological groups, along with story-telling during the music performances, will round out the educational experiences. It is an alcohol-free event. Amphitheater is the &#8220;hub&#8221; around which almost all of the Native Rhythms Festival events will be conducted. The amphitheater is located on the west side of the main loop inside Wickham Park. Wickham Park&#8217;s 390 acres are one of the most highly used park facilities in Brevard County.<\/p>\n<p>The amphitheater area on the west side of the Wickham Park Festival Grounds\u00a0loop drive includes a large covered stage sitting beside a small lake that makes a beautiful backdrop for our entertainers. The ground is a contoured natural seating area facing the stage (bring your lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on the ground). The area just outside this mound is lightly pine-wooded and will be home for our vendors. There is plenty of parking and plenty of electric power available to allow our vendors to continue operating past sunset.<\/p>\n<p>Just north of the Wickham Park Festival Grounds Amphitheater area, within a short walking distance, is the park&#8217;s campground, listing 133 recently renovated campsites with water and electric hook-ups and additional &#8220;rustic&#8221; campsites, and shower rooms, laundry, group camping site, and fire pit nearby. <a class=\"blue\" href=\"http:\/\/nativerhythmsfestival.com\/Lodging_Camping.htm\" target=\"_New\">See Native Rhythms Festival&#8217;s lodging\/camping page<\/a> for more information about the park campgrounds. Provisions are available adjacent to the vendor area for those vendors driving self-contained rigs not requiring power or water hook-ups.
