Morris acted as a farmer, ship owner, miller, iron-master, shop-owner, and owner of the mill now known as Mather Mill. Hope Lodge is an excellent example of early Georgian architecture, and it is possible that Edmund Woolley, architect of Independence Hall, offered advice in building. Samuel Morris owned the estate until his death in 1770, when it was inherited by his brother Joshua. Those wishing to avail themselves of the services of the British Brigade, Inc. should contact the commanding officer.<\/p>\n<p>We endeavor to portray various aspects of the lives of these men and women by bringing together hundreds of soldiers and camp-followers to educate the public at weekend encampments. A field force of The King&#8217;s Army in British North America can be seen camped in the manner of the British Army of the period. Here one can see tent lined streets filled with men wearing red, blue and green coats performing their daily duties as well as practicing drills and maneuvers.<\/p>\n<p>At least twice a year the Army forms for battle against the Rebel forces where one can see, amid the clouds of powder smoke and crash of musketry, battalions of men maneuvering into action against their foes.
