This is a great family-friendly event where you can meet living historians and historic personality interpreters of the Colonial era all day; watch Military and Weapons Demonstration both days; Visit early medical display and ongoing camp life demonstrations; and watch the presentation of the early history of the &#8220;Sand Hills of Spring Wells&#8221; area (Fort Wayne) and early Detroit. Over 14,000 men and women mustered into service for the Union Army at this site in which 1,480 did not return to Michigan buried in the battle field cemeteries in the South. Historic Fort Wayne is one of a handful of star forts left in the US.
