Experience living history at the 5th Annual Pere Marquette Rendezvous on September 9-10, 2017 at the Pere Marquette State Park in Grafton, Illinois. You are invited to step back in time to the days when frontier fur trappers met with fur traders and buyers during this reenactment Pere Marquette Rendezvous festival at Pere Marquette State Park. Join us for the 4th Annual Pere Marquette State Park Rendezvous and visit with buckskin-attired reenactors portraying primitive traders and trappers from the fur trade era of the early 1800s. Cancelled due to lack of State funding. This event will not be held in 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pere Marquette Rendezvous<\/h4>\n

There will be period demonstrations, black powder and longbow shoots, camp music and food common to days on the Illinois frontier. Admission is free and the public is welcome! The Pere Marquette Rendezvous provides both primitive camping geared to the pre-1840 fur trade era and non-primitive in separate areas. Participants and visitors alike will enjoy the muzzle loader shooting competition.<\/p>\n

\n“NO INLINE ACTIONS”
\nPercussion Rifle, Flintlock Rifle and Smooth Bore
\n$20 Blanket Prize to Enter Competition
\nNMLRA\/NRA Safety rules will apply
\nANY infractions of Safety Rules will involve immediate removal of the individual
\nfrom the Shooting Range
\nThe shooting of any firearm or canon while in camp will not be allowed.
\nLong Bow Shoot – $20 Blanket Prize
\nRound Robin, Pot Luck Dinner and Dance on Saturday Night<\/p>\n

Camping<\/strong>
\nNo Camping fee
\nPrimitive Camping: There will be primitive Camping geared to the pre-1840 fur trade era.
\nEarly set up for camping is Thursday September 8th at 9:00am.
\nNon-Primitive Public Camping: RSVP by calling the park office at 618-786-2331
\nAmenities: Firewood, Showers, Bathrooms and Water will be available<\/p>\n
