Join us at the 17th Annual Lexington Tatoo and Muster on May 3-4, 2019 in Lexington, Massacuhsetts at the Lexington Battle Green on Friday, and the Minuteman National Historic Park Visitor Center on Saturday for a weekend of 18th Century Music, Pageantry and Entertainment! Several of the nation’s top fife & drum corps – and some special guests – will be performing. The William Diamond Junior Fife and Drum Corps, host organizaton, invites you to the annual Lexington Tatoo and Muster which once again will be held at Minute Man National Historical Park in Lexington, MA.

Admission is Free – Rain or Shine Event

On Friday evening, there will be a short tattoo at 7:00 p.m. followed by a jam session. Step off for a parade of reasonable duration is Saturday at 12:00 noon. The Lexington Muster performances will immediately commence, followed by a second jam session. A complementary muster meal will be offered. In addition to the fife & drum corps, we will have vendors, jam sessions, and a parade. Provincial and British re-enactors are invited to attend and set up camp, depicting daily life in the 18th Century.

On Saturday, a brief parade begins at noon, ending at the Minute Man National Park visitor center, will include 30 fife and drum corps and marching units from all over the Northeast. Following the parade will be a day filled with music, history, entertainment and fun for all on the muster field at the National Park. There will be colonial crafts people displaying their wares and 18th Century encampment demonstrations.

Lexington Tatoo and Muster Schedule
Friday
12 Noon Camping opens for tents on the grass area of the visitor’s center parking lot, Route 2A, Minute Man National Historical Park, Lexington. RV’s and cars may park at the Minute Man National Historical Park Visitor’s Center lot where directed.
6:15 PM Performing Corps will gather at St. Brigid’s Church, 2001 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington.
6:30 PM Leaders and Majors meet with Director Carmin Calabrese for updates.
6:50 PM Parade from Saint Brigid’s Parish to the Lexington “Battle Green”
7:00 PM Tattoo on the Lexington Battle Green.
8:30 to 10:00 PM Friday Night Jam Session at the MMNHP Camp Site

Saturday
9:00 AM Suttlers and Fife & Drum Vendors open at Muster Field. Parking for Muster vendors will be at Minute Man High School on Route 2A across from Muster Field.
11:00 AM Parade corps line–up at Trainer Field on Battle Road to the Visitor’s Center (approximately half mile).
12:00 Noon Parade steps off, followed directly by Muster at Muster Field Minute Man National Historical Park Visitor’s Center. Lineup at 11:00am at Trainer Field on Battle Road.
1:30 to 3:30 PM Muster meal served to performers across from Camp site under large tent across from the camp area. Corps may pick up muster meal tickets at the announcer’s booth.
7:00 to 10:00 PM Jam session at the MMNHP Camp Site

Sunday
12:00 Noon: Event Over Campers and RV’s must exit Camp site.

Camping
Camping at the Lexington Muster is for performing groups only: Tent camping for performing groups will be located in the field next to the Visitor’s Center parking lot.
RV camping will be in the parking lot itself. Please unload equipment near camp area, and then move the car to a parking spot. All overnight parking takes place at the MMNHP Visitor’s Center lot or designated grassy area adjacent to the camp area. There will be no open fires in the camp area.

Additional Saturday Parking: The Minute Man High School’s back parking lot will be open from 8:00am until 6pm on Saturday, May 7th. The gate will be locked at 6:30pm. There is no overnight parking at the High School.

Curfew: There is a 10pm curfew on noise in the Town of Lexington. All jamming will end at 10pm. That means NO fifing, drumming, radios, or loud conversation in the camp area, and parking areas.

Alcohol Consumption: Beer, wine and other alcoholic beverages may not be consumed on the muster field or in the general camp area. Beer, wine and alcoholic beverages may be consumed in the privacy of your RV or tent.
This will be strictly enforced by NPS law enforcement.

Mark your calendar today so you don’t miss the next Lexington Tatoo and Muster in Lexington, Massacuhsetts at the Lexington Battle Green on Friday and the Minuteman National Historic Park Visitor Center on Saturday. The event takes place on the first Friday and Saturday of May.
