2019 White Oak Society Rendezvous & History Festival
Experience history with us at the 31st Annual White Oak Society Rendezvous & History Festival on August 2-4, 2019 at the White Oak Society Learning Center and Fur Post in Deer River, Minnesota. In our 18th century rendezzous area, we will have blackpowder shooting demonstrations and contests, hawk and knife throwing demonstrations and competitions, live music, cloggers, and more. There will be kids games, and activities all day, including candle making, vendors and food. The clay oven will be baking, and the smokehouse rolling!
Watch and listen as costumed historical interpreters demonstrate and discuss what it was like to live centuries ago. Visit the Northwest Company store with our head clerk Mr. McDonald; talk to the ladies at the baking oven; learn to throw a trade axe; and so much more! Take a walk through Traders’ Row and see, feel, and taste history. This is a true living history experience you won’t want to miss!

We will also showcase a full 15th century medieval encampment in its new separate location. See the 15th century soldiers of the Willensstark Company; meet the German Knight in armor, Lothar von Degen. That’s right, two time period camps in separate sites!
