Native Studies – Empowering People Through Ancient Skills
Native Studies’ courses combine ancient and modern ecological wisdom, and empower people of all ages to become stewards, mentors, and leaders. Both our online and onsite wilderness education courses draw on traditions from indigenous cultures world-wide. These courses emphasize nature as teacher / mentor, routines to enhance awareness, storytelling, self-motivated learning, and tracking as an interpretive tool. For a comprehensive education, our students (for both online and onsite) begin their journey with the Basic Survival Class. The Basic class lays a firm foundation in self-sufficiency and self-reliance through the basic 4: Shelter, Water, Fire, & Food, then branches out into a myriad of skills.
