Join us for the 40th Annual Standing Arrow Powwow on July 13-16, 2017 at the Elmo Powwow Grounds in Elmo, Montana. The Standing Arrow Powwow will bring dancers, drummers, vendors and visitors from many states, including Canada, to Elmo the third weekend in July, when the Kootenai nation and its Kootenai Cultural Committee once again hosts the Standing Arrow Powwow. All nations and the general public are welcome to enjoy the gathering and experience the sights, sounds and smells found only at powwows.

Other come as visitors to get a look at another way of life. About the Kootenai Nation
The Kootenai share sovereignty on the Flathead Indian Reservation with the Salish and Pend Oreille people. Together they form the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. Culturally, however, they are distinct. The Kootenai or Ktunaxa tongue is a language isolate, unrelated to any language in the world.
