2017 Canada 150 Parade and Heritage Displays
All are welcome to Canada 150 Parade and Heritage Displays on June 30 – July 2, 2017 in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada. The event celebrates 150 years and more of Canadian History – featuring Living History Displays, War or 1812, Civil War, Fenian Raids, World War II reenactors and much more!

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 230, Ridgeway is “Leading the Charge” to the Town of Fort Erie’s “Official Canada 150 Parade & Heritage Displays” from Friday, June 30th until Sunday, July 2nd, 2017.
Admission Free – Public Welcome
Hours: 12 noon – 5:00 p.m. Daily
The parade is on Saturday, July 1st, starting at 11 am from the Ridgeway Community Centre heading north on Ridge Road North to the village centre. It will be officially started off with the playing of our National Anthem while members of the Geronimo Skydiving Team descend to the ground flying the “Largest Canadian Flag”.
Following the parade, everyone will gather for commemorative speeches from dignitaries and then a Canada 150 cake will be served.
The rest of the weekend includes over 16 Heritage Displays featuring the history of Erie Beach by the Heritage Arts Legacy of Fort Erie, walking tours of the Ridgeway Battlefield by Canadian Author and Historian, Dr. Peter Vronsky.
There are also plans to commemorate our veterans with a vintage military convoy and displays.
Here’s a look at some the Canada 150 entertainment and perfomers we have lined up for you at Downtown Ridgeway Village Square;
Friday, June 30th: “Rock Canada 150” open mic
Saturday, July 1st: Lincoln Concert Band, Kindred, Casa El Norte, The Remnants
Sunday, July 2nd: The Fort Erie Legion Band, Niagara Memorial Militaires Alumni Drum Corps, Fifties in Color & The Howling Horns
All performances will be at the Ridgeway Village Square excluding “The Howling Horns” who will be at the Ridgeway Legion grounds for the Canada 150 Wrap Up Party.
Wear Your Red!! Canada 150 – Ridgeway, Fort Erie Ont … Our Canada 150 Team invites all residents, tourists and Canada 150 participants to dress in Red & White for the Canada 150 Parade and Heritage Displays from Friday, June 30th to Sunday, July 2nd.
Ride your bike, walk with your pet dog, cat, moose or horse, drive your car, truck or motorcycle to be among the 25 plus parade entrants.
We are also looking for children of all ages to help carry the “Giant Canadian Flag” that will be unfurled by the Geronimo Skydiving Team.
We will passing out hand held Canadian flags and lapel pins during the festivities too!
The fun begins, Friday, June 30th at 4:00 pm at Royal Canadian Legion Ridgeway and Village Square and continues the entire weekend to Sunday, July 2nd until 5:00 pm.

From the United States – enter Canada from the Peace Bridge – Buffalo to Fort Erie – head west on Hwy # 3 (Garrison Road) to Ridgeway, Ontario – turn left on Ridge Road North – head south to Downtown Ridgeway – Look for Canada 150 Parade & Heritage Display signs.
