2018 Elko Band Pow Wow
All are welcome at the 26th Annual Elko Band Pow Wow on October 5-7, 2018 at the Elko Indian Colony Health & Wellness Center in Elko, Nevada. All drummers and dancers alike are invited to attend the event, which stands as a living testament to the vibrant Native American culture in the Elko area. The grand entry is a colorful and meaningful parade of the participating dancers. There are four scheduled dance sessions, each beginning with a grand entry during the Elko Band Pow Wow, one at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, 12:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Elko Band Pow Wow
The contest and intertribal dancing are held throughout the day and sometimes late into the evening. The Elko Band Pow Wow is one of the country’s more dynamic cultural events and is free to participants and spectators alike. Come listen to the sounds of the drums and view the incredible dancing traditions that are preserved and shared. In place of a drum contest, the first five drums registered will receive $1,000 each at the end of the pow wow (must attend all sessions).
