About the Encampment
The Locust Grove Revolutionary War Encampment started out as a “spring training” for the Illinois Regiment reenactment group, which travels throughout the region to participate in Revolutionary War battle reenactments and encampments. Period reenactors set up tents, don period dress and live as Clark and his troops lived — and they invite the public to interact with history. It’s really a way for the reenactors to share their knowledge and their love of history with visitors, who can come and see history firsthand,” Williams said.
About Historic Locust Grove
