2018 KBIC Winter Traditional Powwow
Everyone’s invited to the 14th Annual KBIC Winter Traditional Powwow on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College Niiwin Akeaa Community Center in Baraga, Michigan. The one-day KBIC Winter Traditional Powwow kicks off at 11:00 a.m. with an honoring of the tribe’s Department of Natural Resources.
Be sure to browse the arts and crafts booths for a variety of Native craftwork; food will be available from a concession operated by volunteers from a Keweenaw Bay Indian Community youth group.
A Grand Entry begins each dance session at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Intertribal dancing and specials will follow. Be sure to pay attention to the Master of Ceremonies who will let you know what is going on, often with a bit of humor!
