2019 Keweenaw Bay Maawanji’iding Pow Wow

Join us for the 41st Annual Keweenaw Bay Maawanji’iding Pow Wow on July 26-28, 2019 at the Ojibwa Campgrounds in Baraga, Michigan. The event is hosted by the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. Hundreds of dancers and additional hundreds of spectators will attend, making the Keweenaw Bay Maawanji’iding Pow Wow the biggest pow wow in the Michigan. Dozens of vendors will also bevon site, offering different food, crafts, and clothing.

Keweenaw Bay Maawanji’iding Pow Wow

The Keweenaw Bay Maawanji’iding Pow Wow features traditional singing, dancing, and drumming along with a break for a banquet that is free to those who attend. A Grand Entry begins each dance session, followed by ntertribal dancing and specials. Be sure to pay attention to the Master of Ceremonies who will let you know what is going on, often with a bit of humor!
