2019 Nesika Illahee Pow Wow
All are welcome at the Nesika Illahee Pow Wow on August 9-11, 2019 at the Pauline Ricks Memorial Pow-Wow Grounds on Government Hill in Siletz, Oregon.
Held the second weekend of August, this event celebrates Native American culture with native crafts, food, dancing competitions and other activities. Wander through a world of teepees and vendors selling beads, blankets, clothing and other crafts. Try BBQ salmon on cedar planks cooked over an open fire pit in authentic fashion. Nesika Illahee Pow Wow
All events for the Nesika Illahee Pow Wow take place on Government Hill (except the parade) – Follow signs for parking. The parade takes place on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. through downtown Siletz. The celebration will start with the crowning of this year’s Siletz Royalty on Friday at 6:00 p.m. All dance styles will enter the arena at 7 p.m. during the first Grand Entry. Dances in which the public can participate that are non-competitive will follow the Grand Entry. The first Grand Entry is Friday at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday Grand Entries are at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.; Sunday Grand Entry is at Noon. Camping: $25 trash fee, $5 pet fee/per pet (camping area)
Saturday Parade
The Nesika Illahee Pow-Wow Parade that winds through downtown Siletz will begin on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.. This hometown event includes Tribal royalty, drummers, dancers, equestrian units, vintage cars and floats. Pre-registration is available by accessing a registration form on the Tribe’s website – ctsi.nsn.us; picking one up at the Tribal administration building, 201 SE Swan Ave. in Siletz; or by contacting Lane at 541-444-8230 or ?800-922-1399, ext. 1230. Registration also is available the morning of the parade at 8 a.m. at the Tribal administration building. If you are not registered by 9 a.m., you cannot take part in the judging, which starts at 9 a.m. You can, however, still participate in the parade.

A free shuttle will be available from various parking lots in Siletz to the pow-wow on Government Hill. Signs will be posted. Parking is extremely limited at the pow-wow grounds, so the shuttle is the best way to get there.

Family Friendly Event
Listen carefully to the pow-wow announcer, who will tell you when you can and when you should not take photos. The announcer also will explain the significance of the events taking place in the dance arena throughout the pow-wow. The Nesika Illahee Pow Wow is a family-friendly, drug and alcohol-free event. We are not responsible for accidents, lost or stolen items.

Vendor applications must be submitted for the Nesika Illahee Pow-Wow. This is an application process and does not guarantee you a vendor space at the Pow-Wow. All applications must be returned to the Pow-Wow Committee by June 7. The Pow-Wow Committee will begin reviewing the application forms and selecting vendors for the Pow-Wow at the earliest possible date. Please do not delay in returning your application forms. This is the first step in the application process. DO NOT SEND MONEY WITH THIS APPLICATION. Applicants selected for a vendor space at the Pow-Wow will be contacted mid-June. Pre-payment from selected vendors must be received by the date indicated in your acceptance notice.[/su_spoiler][/su_accordion]
