2018 Brunswick Stew and French and Indian War Soldiers Muster
Join us for the Brunswick Stew and French and Indian War Soldiers Muster on September 22-23, 2018 at the Abrams Delight 1754 Homestead in Winchester, Virginia. At the Brunswick Stew and French and Indian War Soldiers Muster Historical, Chef Joseph Haines will prepare and discuss Brunswick Stew and Early Virginia specialty! Provincials, French, Indians and Rangers welcome!
The Virginia Regiment, Capt.George Mercer’s Company, in concert with Abrams Delight will muster at the site on Saturday and will camp overnight. French Forces are invited if in the Colony at the time. As this is “The Brunswick Stew” event we will be an adjunct of the Winchester Frederick County Historical Society, and will interpret the life and times of the Provincial Forces that defended the Colony on the Virginia Frontier. Musketry, Drill and camp life will be on display throughout the weekend. Brunswick Stew, a Virginia tradition will be served, and all are encouraged to make their own recipes in their stew pots!
The Virginia Regiment is a group of Living History enthusiasts and Military Historians dedicated to re-creating the life and times of the soldiers of George Washington’s Virginia Regiment during the French and Indian War.
We participate in Living History demonstrations, Battle Reenactments, Tactical Formations and Educational formats, and attempt to portray the soldier of this period in the utmost authentic manner possible.
