2019 Chippewa River Rendezvous
Relive early America at the 16th Annual Chippewa River Rendezvous on August 24-25, 2019 at Mill Yard Park in Cornell, Wisconsin. The Chippewa River Rendezvous has grown to over 4000 visitors during the weekend encampment. Admission is free for this two day event and is as educational and it is entertaining for the whole family.
Join the The thousands of attendees are able to walk along the banks of the beautiful Chippewa River and travel back through time to the late 1600’s and learn about the history of Wisconsin and the people who once lived here. From the Ojibwa to the French, English, Irish and Scotsmen, to the pioneers of the western frontier. You will see pre-1840 Fur trade and Civil War camps and Artillery.
Visitors can sit with a blacksmith, a Spinner of wool or a Dyer or Cloth and other living history demontratons. You can try your own hand at making an arrowhead or starting a fire without a match. The Chippewa River Rendezvous offers everyone the opportunity to experience life in a tipi, a single pole lodge or a Civil War sibly and learn how our everyday items were made: soap, clothing, bows and arrows, bullets and knives. Or visit a trapper camp as he shares his knowledge of trapping, skinning, preserving hides and trading furs.
In addition, The Chippewa River Rendezvous features primitive games and competitions for all ages including Frying Pan Toss, Hawk & Knife Throwing, Liars Contest, Treasure Hunt in the Hay, and Cat and Mouse. There will also be prize drawings, silent auctions, historical demonstrations, worship service, delicious food and a large modern day flea market, car show, craft fair and “Bountiful” Farmers market as well as a Historical Trader Row. Find all of this and at the Chippewa River Rendezvous at Mill Yard Park in Cornell, Wisconsin in late August each year.

Cost: $25 per 20’x20′ space for the weekend (whether one day or both days)
NO TABLES OR CANOPIES PROVIDED. Set up can begin on Friday from 8:AM – dark. Sat & Sun set up begins at 6:AM. Must be set up by 8:AM. There will be a designated parking area for all venders’ vehicles. If you need to work out of your vehicle or camper, you will have to purchase one or more spaces to accommodate them. Unreserved spaces will be sold on a “first come, first served basis”. THIS IS A FAMILY ORIENTED EVENT. No offensive Items will be sold or displayed. No offensive music.
