2019 Grand Ronde Contest Powwow
Don’t miss the Annual Grand Ronde Contest Powwow on August 16-18, 2019 at the Uyxat Powwow Grounds in Willamina, Oregon. More than $35,000 in prize money will be on the line during the Confederated Tribes annual Grand Rounde Contest Powwow – one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest. More than 250 Native dancers, many whom will compete for prize money in 20 categories are expected for this weekend celebration.
Grand Ronde Contest Powwow
Registration begins at 5 p.m. Friday, followed by the first Grand Entry at 7:00 p.m. Powwow Royalty coronation will be held Friday evening. On Saturday, a parade between the Uyxat Powwow Grounds and Fort Yamhill State Park will be held at 10:00 a.m. and include cash prizes. Saturday Grand Entries will be held at 1:00 and 7:00 p.m. as contest and intertribal dancing continues. On Sunday, the final Grand Entry of the Grand Rounde Contest Powwow will be at 1:00 p.m.
Camping at Uyxat Powwow Grounds is available for $5.00, which includes a parking pass. Parking is $1.00 a day or a donation of canned food. Weekend passes are available for $3. A shuttle also will transport powwow attendees from Spirit Mountain Casino to the powwow grounds.
