2019 Greenfield Village Civil War Remembrance
Be part of living history at the annual Greenfield Village Civil War Remembrance this Memorial Day Weekend on May 25-27, 2019 at The Henry Ford in Dearborn, Michigan. Visitors are invited to become a part of living history as Union and Confederate reenactors, bustling camps and period music enliven the Greenfield Village Civil War Remembrance.
Greenfield Village Civil War Remembrance
Watch Union and Confederate reenactors take part in cavalry, artillery firing and tactical demonstrations at Walnut Grove. Inside the Village Pavilion guests can take part in special presentations from historians, see an exhibit of fashions from that time period, and look through military history from original Army and Navy artifacts.
Camps, cavalry and period music will pop up all over the village as Union and Confederate reenactors dress in period clothing and act out scenes from the Civil War. Military tactical demonstrations, historian insights, special presentations and hands-on activities, among others, are included in your experience.

History deepens from black and white to blues and grays, as you travel from a battlefield to a Stephen Foster sing-along to a peek into the thriving ready-to-wear fashion industry of the era. Innovations in firearms, dress and military strategy, alongside the heroism and tragedy, make up the American spirit of the era. Join us in honoring and exploring this remarkable time. .

Directions: The Henry Ford is located in Dearborn, Michigan on the corner of Village Road and Oakwood Boulevard, just west of the Southfield Freeway (M-39) and south of Michigan Avenue (US-12).
Parking: Parking is available in several lots surrounding The Henry Ford for $6.00. On busy days the lots fill up quickly. Members and Giant Screen Experience-only patrons park for free.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up
For guests with mobility limitations, there is a drop-off and pick-up area in front of the Greenfield Village ticket building.
Be aware that Civil War Remembrance includes the following:
- The sound of gunshots and the smell of gunpowder from military reenactments
- The sound of drums throughout the weekend and the sound of a whistle from Armington & Sims Machine Shop on Monday at 3 pm, signaling a national moment of silence.
- Open flame and the smell of wood smoke from fires in military and civilian camps
- Areas of uneven terrain off of paved pathways
- Crowds
