Join us for the 37th Annual Kaw Nation Washunga Days Powwow on June 21-23, 2019 in the Dance Arbor at Allegawaha Park near Council Grove, Kansas. Each year, Kaw citizens make the trip to Council Grove from their homes in Oklahoma and elsewhere to be a part of this Kaw Nation Washunga Days Powwow celebration of the tribe’s historical heritage in the area. The Kaw Nation Washunga Days Powwow in Council Grove honors the last full-blooded Kaw chief, Washunga. Council Grove was once the site of a Kaw reservation.
