Everyone’s invited to the 14th Annual KBIC Winter Traditional Powwow on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College Niiwin Akeaa Community Center in Baraga, Michigan. The one-day KBIC Winter Traditional Powwow kicks off at 11:00 a.m. with an honoring of the tribe’s Department of Natural Resources.
Be sure to browse the arts and crafts booths for a variety of Native craftwork; food will be available from a concession operated by volunteers from a Keweenaw Bay Indian Community youth group.
A Grand Entry begins each dance session at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Intertribal dancing and specials will follow. Be sure to pay attention to the Master of Ceremonies who will let you know what is going on, often with a bit of humor!
