Join the ranks at the Old Fort Niagara Rebels and Redcoats on June 3-4, 2017 at Old Fort Niagara in Youngstown, New York. At the annual Old Fort Niagara Rebels and Redcoats event, British and American troops from all of the Northeast, Midwest and Canada converge on Old Fort Niagara to animate the fort as it was during the American Revolution. The event features living history camps, musket and artillery demonstrations and large scale battle reenactments.
Throughout the Old Fort Niagara Rebels and Redcoats weekend event, there will be hands-on activities for children, including 18th century games; presentations of map-making, surveying, military engineering and fortification; changing-of-the-guard ceremonies; demonstrations of soldier life; and 18th century merchants.
Among the reenactment units will be the Northwest Department of the Brigade of the American Revolution, a nonprofit living history association dedicated to recreating the lives of the common American Revolution soldier, and the 1st Regiment of Light Dragoons from the North West Territorial Alliance.
Old Fort Niagara Rebels and Redcoats programs run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $12 for adults, $8 for children 6-12 and free for kids 5 and under and fort members.
There is no extra charge for this event but general admission tickets are required. Old Fort Niagara Association members are free.
