2019 Union Gap Old Town Days Civil War Reenactment
Experience thundering cannon at the Annual Union Gap Old Town Days Civil War Reenactment on June 14-16, 2019 in Union Gap, Washington. Rapidly becoming the biggest and most popular part of Union Gap’s Annual Old Time Days Celebration, Union Gap Old Town Days Civil War Reenactment features participants in period dress in the Union and Confederate Civil War Camps.
Union Gap Old Town Days Civil War Reenactment
Washington state has a large and very active group of Civil War reenactores. Many of these reenactors, as part of the Washington Civil War Association portrays civilians, infantry, cavalry, artillery, Army, Navy, Marines, engineers, surgeons, nurses, ministry and settlers. They will march into the battle reenactments in military dress with drum and fife. Battles feature black powder guns and cannon. “Abraham Lincoln” will give his Gettysburg Address each day following the battle.
Visitors are invited to get in on the fun by dressing in period costume and attend the Civil War Era dance on Saturday eveningy. Take a Wagon Tour back in time through the Agricultural Museum. Enjoy live entertainment, food venders or bring your own picnic. The kids will enjoy kiddie train rides, a working blacksmith shop and old time games.
Civil War Battle Reenactments
Watch the North and South face off in two battles each day. Walk through Union and Confederate camps during the day; meet and talk with the soldiers and civilians. Civil War Camps will be on display from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, with the battle reenactments at 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday there will even be a Civil War era dance from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket and sit in the shade to enjoy the live music and relax between battles.
Old Time Days Parade: Saturday 10 a.m.
Join everyone at 10 a.m. on Main Street in Union Gap for the Annual Old Town Days Parade that kicks off the Father’s Day Weekend at Fullbright Park and the Central Washington Ag Museum with one of the largest Civil War Reenactments on the West Coast! The first battle of the Union Gap Old Town Days Civil War Reenactment starts immediately after the parade and admission for the entire weekend long event is FREE with FREE Parking!
Free Parking & Shuttle Service
Union Gap Transit will provide transport to and from the parking lots to the event area. Drop off and pickup are near the parking lot.

LIVE MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT: The stage in Fullbright Park features live music both days. Aarea dance teams and more are welcome to sign up and perform before the Old Town Days crowds.
OLD TIME KID’S RACES: Remember a time when kids did something other than look at screens? Take a step back in time with these old time games.
KIDDIE TRAIN RIDES: A favorite for kids as they ride around our vintage ‘old town’. Rides are Free!
PEOPLE WAGON TOURS: Hop on and off our People Wagons as they take you through the museum grounds and the Civil War camps. Union Gap’s TRAMS will be running (one of them is wheelchair accessible).
ARTS & CRAFTS VENDORS AND CIVIL WAR STORE: Offering unique arts and crafts along with Civil War sutlers (vendors) located in the camps.
PHOTO OPS GALORE: Take pictures of the family at different locations throughout the Union Gap Old Town Days Civil War Reenactment including at the general store, in the kiddie train ride homestead and more! Most soldiers will be happy to hop into a photo with you if you ask.
FOOD VENDORS: Enjoy great food from several different vendors. From burgers and hot dogs to specialty sandwiches, famous tamales, sweets, ice cream, sno cones, tacos and more![/su_spoiler][/su_accordion]
