2019 Vermilion Valley Encampment at Forest Glen Preserve
Join for the annual Vermilion Valley Encampment at Forest Glen Preserve on September 28-29, 2019 in Westville, Illinos. The site is quiet, buried in the woods, and includes a cabin, barn, and battlefield with fortification. Produced by the West Territory Alliance (NWTA) and hosted by Worthington’s Company, the historically accurate spectacle is free to the public.
Visitors can watch many old-time crafts demonstrated, watch a fashion show or stop by the Sugar Bush Concession Stand, run by the Georgetown-Ridge Farm Booster Club. On Sunday, children will enjoy afternoon games, try their hand at making rope and sample apple cider.
The highlight of each day will be the Revolutionary War battles by authentically clothed reenactors each afternoon on the battlefield, and the encampments set up by the families of the event participants.
