2019 Zoar Civil War Reenactment
See history come to life at the annual Zoar Civil War Reenactment on September 21-22, 2019 at Historic Zoar Village in Zoar, Ohio. Join the ranks at the Zoar Civil War Reenactment with over 1,500 Civil War soldiers and civilians for a weekend, and experience life in the 1860s at Ohio’s largest and greatest Civil War event! Walk through historic Union and Confederate camps, witness cavalry and artillery demonstrations, enjoy the Saturday Civil War Ball, tour all 10 of Zoar’s historic buildings, and much more! This event is only every other year, so don’t miss your chance to take part in this weekend filled with fun!
The Zoar Civil War Reenactment takes place in ‘odd’ numbered years. The dates and basic information in this listing are correct, however certain information concerning specifics of the 2019 event are not available until planning meetings are held. Zoar Civil War Reenactment
Historic Zoar Village is the perfect backdrop for the Zoar Civil War Reenactment with its 19th century buildings as a backdrop. The annual reenactment is sponsored by the Zoar Community Association. All proceeds go to the preservation and restoration of village.

The Zoar Civil War Reenactment kicks off on Friday with a day-long program for school children. More than 1,000 students – some from as far away as Cleveland – will be learning about Civil War-era music, sewing and cooking. They will also learn how weapons from that era worked and witness an artillery demonstration.
Public events are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, with the main battles scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Many other events are planned as well, including a Civil War ball that will be held from 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. Saturday at the main tent. The Zoar Civil War Reenactment is held every other odd year.
