2019 PCC Winter Powwow – Portland Community College Wacipi
All are welcome at the 19th Annual PCC Winter Powwow on January 19, 2019 at Portland Community College Sylvania Campus, Health Technology Building in Portland, Oregon. Portland Community College and the PCC Sylvania Campus Multicultural Center are proud to present Wacipi – a celebration of Native American culture and tradition.
PCC Winter Powwow – Portland Community College Wacipi
Join us for an extraordinary campus and community cultural event that celebrates and features drum groups and dancers from across the region and attracts more than 1,000 participants each year. The PCC Winter Powwow supports the PCC Native American Scholarship Fund and Native American businesses by offering vendor space.
The Portland Community College Winter Wacipi features drum groups and dancers from across the region, Native American crafts and food, activities for children, and raffle prizes. The Traditional Powwow, which will have American Sign Language interpretation and captioning available, is free and open to the public. Campus parking is also free.
The Grand Entries (dancing and drumming) begin at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and the free community dinner gets under way at 5:30 p.m. In addition, a college fair is set for noon to 4:00 p.m., and there will be a plenty of activities for children throughout the day. The Master of Ceremonies and Whip Man will run the proceedings.

Drum Group Information
For drum groups, space and payouts are available to the first 10 groups. No walk-ons or drum hopping. Advanced registration is due by Wednesday, January 10. Please contact the PCC Sylvania Campus Multicultural Center at 971-722-4116 to register.
Vendor Information
Merchandise vendor space is limited to 18 indoor vendors. There is a $75 fee for each 10′ x 10′ vendor space, (please note: pop-up tents are no longer allowed and no tables will be provided for merchandise vendors). Priority is given to Native American-owned small businesses and authentic handmade Native American merchandise. Advanced registration and payment is due by Friday, January 5th, 2018. College Fair information
Space is limited to 8 registered College Fair vendors and 8 non-profit organizations. There is a $50 fee for College Fair vendors and no charge for a table if you are a Native American non-profit organization. Advanced registration and payment is due by Friday, January 5th, 2018. The PCC Winter Powwow is a family-friendly event and is alcohol and smoke free. No tobacco products are allowed on PCC premises.

Proceeds from PCC’s Annual Winter Pow Wow support the Native American Student Scholarship. Your participation and support of Pow Wow will ensure that the tradition of increasing access and retention of Native American Students continues.
