2019 NRLHF Southeastern Primitive Rendezvous

Experience pre-1840s life at the 38th Annual Southeastern Primitive Rendezvous on October 18-25, 2019 at the Reavis farm at the Davie/Yadkin border in Yadkinville, North Carolina. The annual Annual Southeastern Primitive Rendezvous is a week long reenactment of a rendezvous, where fur trappers, long hunters, American Indians and frontier families gather to experience the way people lived in the 17th and early 18th centuries. Traders will sell supplies.

The public is invited to the rendezvous from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday. Admission is $5.00 per adult, children age 12 and under are admitted free.

Directions
To reach the farm at 297 Reavis Road, Yadkinville, take US 601 North from Mocksville to Liberty Church Road. Turn left onto Liberty Church Road, travel about six miles and turn right onto Reavis Road. In about a half mile, turn left at the county line sign.

Fees:
NMLRA members and spouse or significant other – $50 each
Non-members – $60 each Children 17 and younger – free.
Dependants 18 and older – $25 each
Registration at gate – add $10 per adult
Early set-up fee – $5/day per adult if not pre-registered
Trader fee – $50 Commercial blanket trader – $20

Gate hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. for early setup Wednesday, Thursday, as well as for general setup Friday. On Public Days Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday & Wednesday, participants may bring vehicles into camp for setup or tear down from 7-9 a.m. and must leave by 10 a.m., or 5-7 p.m. and must leave by 8 p.m.

On Non-Public Days, Thursday & Friday participants may bring vehicles into camp for setup or tear down from 8-10 a.m. and must leave by 11 a.m., or from 3-5 p.m. and must leave by 6 p.m.

Sutler Setup
Sutlers wishing to set up on Sutler Row only, may do so Tuesday. “Sutler” area will be open to the public every day from 10am – 4pm with a fee of $5.00 per person 13 and older.

Period Clothing Required
Beginning Friday, period clothing is required. Please move your vehicle to the parking lot immediately after you finish setting up. All clothing, lodges and accoutrements must fit into the 1640-1840 time period in North America. Absolutely no modern footwear or sunglasses, unless medically required. Period eyewear is encouraged. Modern eye and ear protection is allowed on the firing line only. All modern items (coolers, cans, bottles, plastic, etc.) must be kept out of sight at all times. Turn off cell phones or set them on vibrate and keep them out of sight. Keep cameras hidden when not in use. No flash photos.

Opening ceremony is 5 p.m. Friday.
Early set up: There is no time limit for setup Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. There will be no early setup fee Wednesday and Thursda, for campers registered in advance. Non-registered people arriving before Friday will be charged $5 per person per day.

Public days: Entire camp is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday October 26. Gate fee is $5 for everyone 13 and older. Admission is free for children ages 12 and younger and active service personnel with valid ID.

Camp & Rendezvous Rules
Wood, water, port-a-johns and trash pickup will be provided. Ice will be sold daily. NO propane, kerosene heaters, Coleman lanterns or charcoal lighter fluid will be permitted, except for approved food vendors.[su_accordion][su_spoiler title=”Read More”] DO NOT dump the contents of chamber pots into a trash bag. Needles must be properly discarded.

There will be no separate areas for long-term camps or primitive pack-in.

Disabled participants: Abide by pre-1840 rules as much as possible. Carts, walkers and registered service animals are allowed. NRLHF follows federal American with Disabilities Act rules regarding service animals.

Modern camp: A modern camp area will be provided. No hookups.

Animal rules: No pets are allowed in primitive areas. Pets are allowed in the modern area, subject to the NRLHF nuisance policy.

Only horses and mules are permitted in primitive area. Current negative Coggins certificate will be required at the gate. You are responsible in all ways for the health, safety, conduct and feed of your animals. Make sure animals are tolerant of the sight, sounds and chaos of rendezvous. All tack, wagons, buggies and accessories must be period appropriate.

To volunteer to help with ice and trash runs or other duties at the Southeastern Primitive Rendezvous, call a staff member before the event or sign up at the gate.[/su_spoiler][/su_accordion]

Traders
Traders are responsible for all applicable permits, and licenses. Traders are responsible for collection of appropriate sales taxes. NO advertising on hooter fort walls. NOTICE: It is the responsibility of traders and possessors of FURS, CLAWS, FEATHERS, and etc. to be in compliance with North Carolina and Federal laws. Contact the NC Wildlife Resources Commission at www.ncwildlife.org[su_accordion][su_spoiler title=”Read More”] Sutlers: You are responsible for all collection of taxes or any permits needed. If there is a dispute, the trade captain’s decision is final. Trade blankets are subject to trade rules.

Registration: The pre-registration deadline for the Southeastern Primitive Rendezvous is September 20, 2017. Envelopes must be postmarked and online transactions must be completed by that date. Please allow a few extra days for online transactions.

For NMLRA members and spouse or significant other, advanced registration is $50 each ($100 per couple). For non-members, the fee is $60 each ($120 per couple). The fee for dependants age 18 and older (except a spouse or partner) is $25 each. Children ages 17 and younger are free. Registration at the gate for people who have not preregistered will be an additional $10 per person.

Rendezvous fees include a medallion, all competitions and camp dinner. Seminars may have a small fee. A medallion will be required to re-enter the rendezvous, vote in elections or enter competitions.

Trader fees are $50, plus registration fees. Please check trade rules. Commercial blanket trader fee is $20, plus registration. Check trade rules for value amount of trade goods allowed for blanket traders.[/su_spoiler][/su_accordion]
