2019 Como Mountain Man Rendezvous
Experience a pre-1840s style gathering at the 35th Annual Como Mountain Man Rendezvous on August 10-17, 2019 in Como, Colorado. As a pre-1840s fur trade rendezvous re-enactment, the Como Mountain Man Rendezvous strives in all aspects of this event to be true to that era in the Rocky Mountains. The Como Mountain Man Rendezvous is held about 6 miles south of the town of Como, Colorado.
Como Mountain Man Rendezvous
Como is located in South Park, an intermontane grassland basin. South Park is approximately 950 square miles of rolling hills and meadows at approximately 10,000 feet altitude. This region was a favorite trapping and wintering spot during the fur trade era. The site has beautiful with views of the mountains both South and West. We hope we are lucky enough to continue to use this site for years to come. This will be the 32nd Como Rendezvous. They have been held in the South Park region of Colorado all previous years.
Our Como Mountain Man Rendezvous site is owned by the JBGardneRanch and is donated to us for this event by Amanda Woodbury. Without Amanda Woodbury and the JBGardneRanch our rendezvous would not be possible. We owe a great debt of appreciation to Amanda and the JBGardneRanch.
This year camp fees will be by donation only. One jar will be for the costs of the event and the other jar (Critters “Pay it forward” fund) is to give directly back to the owner to show our gratitude for letting us use this site. Donations are also accepted for prizes and for the auction at the end of the week. All of the proceeds go to fund next years Como Mountain Man Rendezvous.

Early Setup Starts The First Saturday of the Event at 10:00 AM
The Event Runs Through the Following Saturday(8 Days).
The Following Sunday is Breakdown Day.

Como Mountain Man Rendezvous Location
South of Como, CO. Take CR 15 south 6.4 miles (bear right at the fire station) and turn left on Antler Ridge Rd. Stay on Antler Ridge until it becomes Shoshone Rd. Entrance on right. Follow The Signs.

Must be in primitive clothing to compete in any and all events. Prizes at camp meeting on sat.
Black powder shoots – must shoot pre 1840 style muzzleloaders.
Primitive bow shoot – knife and hawk throw – check the chalk board for information.
Women’s frying pan toss – when it works best. Kids games – when they work best.
Be prepared to feed yourself!
There will be a family camp area in modern camp and no rowdy behavior in family camp at night. After 6pm each day everyone must be in primitive clothing to remain in primitive camp. There will probably be rowdy behavior in primitive camp at night.
You bring it in, you pack it out! This is private property – respect it! A fire ban does not look likely at this point, but always be prepared to cook on propane.
