Bring the family to the Fort Ticonderoga Heritage Harvest and Horse Festival on October 5, 2019 at Historic Fort Ticonderoga in Ticonderoga, New York for a full day of autumn fun! Experience the power and thunder of hooves through demonstrations of equestrian sports and working horses; take part in family-fun activities including sack races; and explore the splendor of the King’s Garden at the annual plant sale and harvest market. The Fort Ticonderoga Heritage Harvest and Horse Festival will not be complete without a visit to Fort Ticonderoga’s highly acclaimed Heroic Maze: A Corn Maze Adventure where visitors explore the six acre corn maze designed in the shape of the Fort and find their way through the maze by selecting the correct answers to clues connected to the Fort’s history! Admission to the Heritage, Harvest & Horse Festival is included with Fort Ticonderoga’s general admission ticket.

“Localvore” Food, Live Music, Wagon Rides and More!
Fort Ticonderoga Heritage Harvest and Horse Festival featured activities include: live music; delicious “localvore” food; pony rides; petting zoo; horse-drawn wagon rides; harvest market featuring locally grown and made products including artisanal cheese, hand-woven baskets, perennials and mums, produce, maple syrup, honey, apple products and more!

Planting Bulbs Now for Spring Blooms 10:30 AM
There are spring-flowering bulbs for almost every garden, bringing a welcome relief after our long winters. Fall is the time to choose and plant bulbs to enjoy spring blooms from March through May. Dr. Perry will cover what you need to know to choose the appropriate bulbs, and to plant them properly. He’ll show several types of bulbs, planting tools, supplies, and several resources to learn more.

Breaking Ground: A Tour of the Historic Gardens 11:30 AM & 2:30 PM
From Military garrison gardens to a secluded Colonial Revival spectacle of color and light, explore one of the oldest cultivated landscapes in America and learn about the horticultural history of the Ticonderoga peninsula.

Family Fun at the Fort Ticonderoga Heritage Harvest and Horse Festival:

Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides 10AM-3PM
Ride around the beautiful grounds of the King’s Garden in Country Dreams Farm’s wagon, pulled by a great team of draft horses.

Heroic Corn Maze 10AM-5PM
Take a family trip through the six acre corn maze, with the beautiful landscape and Ticonderoga’s epic history as a back drop. Learn More.

Horse Rides 10AM-4PM
Take a ride on a lead horse around the King’s Garden’s apple orchard, provided by Word of Life Ranch & Ranger Camp

Heroic Maze: A Corn Maze Adventure!
The day will not be complete without a visit to Fort Ticonderoga’s highly acclaimed Heroic Maze: A Corn Maze Adventure where visitors explore the six-acre corn maze designed in the shape of the Fort and find their way through the maze by selecting the correct answers to clues connected to Fort Ticonderoga’s history!

Horse Presentations
Discover the importance of horses in the Revolutionary War at the Fort Ticonderoga Heritage Harvest and Horse Festival, meet the Vermont Cavalry and hear their story about their fight in the Civil War, and follow the cry of the hounds from the King’s Garden to learn more about the sport of Foxhunting with the Green Mountain Hounds. The Heritage, Harvest, and Horse Festival will feature demonstrations of equestrian sports and working horses alike. From farm horses to cavalry mounts, meet some of these beautiful four-legged animals as you tour around the Fort’s garrison grounds and gardens.

Carillon Boat Cruise at 4pm!
Make reservations today for the chance to gain a water-level perspective of Fort Ticonderoga on a Carillon boat cruise. The 60-foot, 49-passenger tour boat will offer a special tour around the Ticonderoga Peninsula at 4 pm. In 90 minutes you can enjoy centuries of stories that floated across this ancient lake. Set between the Green and Adirondack Mountains, this tour will explore not only the epic 18th-century military stories, but also the maritime heritage of the 19th and 20th century.
