2017 High Plains Powwow
Join us at the 6th Annual High Plains Powwow on September 9, 2017 at Carbon County Fair Grounds in Rawlins, Wyoming to experience the majesty of Native American cultures through song and dance. Whether you are new to the powwow world, or are a veteran observer, this event is not one to miss. This Northern Traditional style contest powwow is free to the public, with dance registration open to all tribes. Over $9,500 in cash prizes will be awarded to contestants in 22 classes of dance competitions. (Tribal ID is required for dancer registration).
Note: This Powwow will not be held in 2018.

High Plains Powwow at Carbon County Fair Grounds
The High Plains Powow is a free, all day event. Contest dancing begins at 11:00 a.m. featuring native dancers in traditional regalia from surrounding reservations such as Wind River, Pine Ridge, Crow, and Uintah. Dancers range in ages from two to fifty-five and over. These dancers will compete for prize money and prestige in a number of dance types and age groups. Competitors will amaze you with their beautiful regalia, and their dance skill.

Adult Division (Ages 18 – 54)

Vendors are urged to bring their wares, as space is still available.

This is a drug, alchohol and pet free event. Tribal ID is required for dancer registration.

Camping is available at the fairgrounds, but be sure to call ahead to make arrangements.
