2019 Petal Southern Miss Powwow
Join us for the 16th Annual Petal Southern Miss Powwow on April 13-14, 2019 at Willie Hinton Park in Petal, Mississippi. The Petal Southern Miss Pow Wwow is an annual event that brings Natives and nnn-natives together to share in the American Indian’s rich culture. All military and veterans will be recognized. All dancers and drums are welcome. The free, family-oriented event hosts people and tribes from all over the country and includes traditional Native American dances, dancing competitions, music and art, as well as food and vendors.
Petal Southern Miss Powwow
The Petal Southern Miss Pow Wow brings people together to meet and greet and become aware of the Choctaw presence and the Indian presence in the nation, especially here in Mississippi. Other Powwow sponsors include the Mississippi Humanities Council, the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians Office of the Tribal Chief, Southern Miss President’s Office, College of Arts and Letters, College of Science and Technology, Visit Mississippi, the Hattiesburg Convention Commission, Pearl River Resort and all local businesses in Petal and individuals who sponsored dance categories.
