2019 Red Clay Cherokee Heritage Festival
Join us for the Annual Red Clay Cherokee Heritage Festival on August 10-11, 2019 at the Red Clay State Historic Park in Cleveland, Tennessee. Sponsored by the Eastern Band of Cherokees, Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, the Keetowah Band of Oklahoma, , Tennessee State Parks and the Friends of Red Clay, you and your family are invited spend the weekend with us. See Cherokee demonstrators, entertainment, storytelling, Cherokee games, traditional dances and more. Don’t miss out on an intense game of Stickball. The Cherokee Heritage Festival features some traditional foods (such as favorites like frybread) as well as contemporary favorites. All artisans are citizens of one of the three Cherokee Nations.
Red Clay Cherokee Heritage Festival Intertribal Dancing
The annual blowgun tournament will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. It is open to the public, but participants must bring their own river cane blowgun and darts. Cash prizes are awarded in men, women and youth categories.
The Red Clay Cherokee Heritage Festival is a family friendly event, so bring everyone. Seating is limited, so be sure to bring folding chairs or blankets to sit on.

About Red Clay Park
The 263-acres of Red Clay Park are respected as the last seat of the Cherokee national government before the 1838 enforcement of the Indian Removal Act of 1830. Eleven general councils were held there between 1832 and 1837, according to the park’s website.
