2019 Sacred Springs Powwow
Join over 4,500 attendees for the 9th Annual Sacred Springs Powwow, on October 19-20, 2019 at the Meadows Center in San Marcus, Texas and experience the event that celebrates the Native American culture that has been part of the San Marcos area for thousands of years. Be here for a beautiful Native American festival culturally rich in music, art, dancing, and food. There will be an array of dancers, traditional drums and singers, spectacular Indian market with arts and craft booths, and Native foods. The “Native Culture Tent” will feature flute players, storytellers, and White Shaman Panel presentations, and provide performances throughout the day.
Sacred Springs Powwow
We’re expecting over 100 Native dancers, an Indian Market with 45 arts, crafts, and food booths, two outstanding powwow drum groups, and our Native Culture Tent.
The “Native Culture Tent” will feature flute players, storytellers, and White Shaman Panel presentations, and provide performances throughout the day. Very special guests from Peru (Andean Fusion) will be performing their beautiful and unique music from the sacred Andean Mountains.

Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Saturday features our all-day festival with all of the special activities of the annual Sacred Springs Powwow.
Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Special competitions continue with crowds cheering for their favorite dancer. Prizes awarded for first, second, and third places.

Parking & Shuttle:
Parking will be available in the parking lots on both sides of Bobcat Stadium. There will be signs for shuttle pick-up points at the covered waiting area of both parking lots. The shuttles will run continuously from 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.

The annual Sacred Springs Powwow is held by Indigenous Cultures Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the research and preservation of the culture, arts, traditions, ceremonies, and languages of the population collectively known as Coahuiltecans. San Marcos first experienced a powwow in 1995 when the Lucky Tomblin family brought Kiowa and other indigenous people to the area. The Sacred Springs Powwow is conducted in honor of the Tomblin Family.
